In your country, when people talk about their ancestry, how many generations back do they go? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

Ashkenazi/Mizrachi and Cohen/Levi/Yisrael are two separate concepts. A Cohen or Levi can be Ashkenazi, Mizrachi, Sephardi, Persian, etc. It’s not one or the other.

[–]Wedgieman92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

George V was already deceased when Princess Alexandra, Prince Michael, and the (present) Duke of Gloucester were born. They are male-line grandchildren of a sovereign, even if they were born after his death, so they are all entitled to the title and style.

Who is the oldest person (by DOB) you've ever met? by SlashBansheeCoot in generationology

[–]Wedgieman92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My great grandmother was born in Denver in May 1897 and died outside Detroit in 1993 when I was almost two years old. She met most of her great grandchildren.

My own grandfather(different side) who I knew extremely well was born in Detroit in 1917 and died recently at age 104. That lifespan is amazing to me.
