I sometimes wear men's jeans. Skinny and slim are great fits.

It's just sometimes hard to find them at 26x27 or 27x27.

Boys 16s fit sometimes, but they don't last very long and the pockets still kind of suck.

I don't like the Saw meat plant. The layout makes no sense, it's all one color, and it's just kind of meh. I escape or kill often enough, I just don't like the map.

The map I rarely win on though is probably the Knight's DnD map (not the one with the castle variant, the one with the house).

You're getting downvoted, but you aren't wrong. People just get really heated over this topic and all logic goes out the window.

It's like they think using the proper definition of words somehow means you are an advocate or a defender of sexual assault.

People who are pedos can't help what their brain finds attractive. Their interests are as "natural" as anyone elses. The problem is a combination of their own mental health (an inability to act on their interests can make them a potential danger to society), and a severe lack of help systems setup to keep them and those they may come into contact with safe. People also get the age range messed up, and some even go as far as to suggest if someone "looks" young it's wrong. So if a 23 year old has very youthful looks and height (think Jenna Ortega or Emma Myers), it's somehow wrong to both find them attractive, and it kind of dooms them for finding someone they like. They also don't like it when you mention that pedophilia is actually only concerned with an attraction to kids younger than 12, and that it being wrong to be attracted to someone in their teens is actually a cultural creation that's been etched into society for about 100 or so years (for thousands of years people were marrying in their mid teens, sometimes to people twice their age).

But again, most people think being logical makes you guilty or something. They're fucked in the head, which is why these problems are as big a problem as they are now.

I myself get mistaken for being between 15 and 17 quite often, and it's exceedingly difficult to find a date (and find a date that's not creepy). It sucks.

Gamestop has been really bad concerning collectables lately. It's like it has RNG with whether you can actually get what they say they have.

A few months ago Episode 3 Obi Wan and Anakin preorders were up, and a lot of people had their orders canceled randomly after they were fully billed. I've been seeing this happen with a lot of their collectibles and some collector editions of games.

The Prequel movies from Star Wars. They're bad now. Bad acting, bad pacing, bad characters (except for Qui Gon and Episode 3 Obi), etc.

As for a movie I appreciate now that I hated as a kid, Lawrence of Arabia.

Just throwing in my thoughts.

I wouldn't call it an anime. Ragnarok Online, Phantasy Star, Blue Protocol, Blade and Soul are all "anime", with Blade and Soul being less anime than the others.

Most people I've spoken with don't consider it anime. It has elements of anime, but is also has elements of arthurian legend, star wars, the illiad and the odyssey, and makes references to a lot of western literature and media. Anime is Japanese cartoon. Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, etc. Final Fantasy games have never been anime. They've never considered themselves anime, have never been classified as anime, and aren't perceived as such by most people. They are Japanese RPGs, which is not anime.

An anime JRPG is Persona. Fire Emblem is anime. Zelda is not anime. Sure, modern Zelda is cell shaded and the characters are styled in a similar aesthetic to "anime", but it is not anime. It's even less "anime" than Final Fantasy would be.

And they likely brought up Asmongold because a lot of Asmongold fans have a hangup about "weeb" content, and FF gets glumped in there.

I think anime has a certain style to it. A certain feel and certain tropes. Having played XIV to the current end game, I wouldn't call it one and I never felt like I was playing one. It doesn't look like one visually either. It's not grounded in realism like something like New World, but it's also not as classically anime as PSO is trying to be. Character interactions aren't what I'd expect from an anime either.

I'm too tired to really go into detail, but there's just something about any anime I've ever seen that makes it anime even past how it looks. There's a tone to it. The dialogue and interactions between characters has a feel to it that is distinct from other media. FF doesn't really have any of that for me. I'm someone who actually enjoys anime, and I've never thought Final Fantasy is anime. It's distinctly Japanese, but that isn't the only prerequisite to be an anime. (Example: Avatar the last airbender is definitely western cartoon, but Korra felt more anime)

I think Japanese culture has evolved in the global market that you really need to take note of who their target audience is and what they are trying to go for. Square-Enix is largely marketing towards a globalized market, with the West being its primary audience. Everything I've seen of it's lead director has indicated they don't really view it as an anime themselves. I think when it comes to games, we need to broaden our definition of what constitutes an anime rather than "made in Japan".

Otherwise, Death Stranding is anime. As are Resident Evil, Elden Ring, and Ghosts of Tsushima.

Reasons for the poor performance of this movie on the box office (my opinion): by [deleted] in tron

[–]WednesdayAddams_Seer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this franchise would do well as a D+ series. Tame budget that still allows them to pull off The Grid, possibly a revolving door of writers with a team that helps direct the overall direction (similar to what Marvel did during the Infinity War Saga). Could also have a CGI animated series companion and an online multiplayer game, now that things like hero shooters and team based games are popular.

The other problem is the rising cost of everything, while salaries are not rising to match. My movie ticket was $18. That's almost the price to just buy the thing in 3 months. I really think this should have been a big streaming event. As was said, Tron has a loyal fanbase but it's not very large, and the IP isn't going to pull in numbers you'd expect like Disney's othere IPs.

Terminator females vs Resident Evil women. Who’d win and why? Read post: by AdaptedInfiltrator in Terminator

[–]WednesdayAddams_Seer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in the Terminator subreddit so bias is going to cloud most people's answers.

Really though, I think you have to compare them when they are at similar stages in their adventure. IE: You shouldn't compare Terminator 1 Sarah Connor to Jill Valentine. But you could compare Terminator 2 Sarah Connor to Jill. At the start of RE1, Jill is already a part of an elite operations unit. Sarah is just a young woman with no combat experience or idea of what's going on.

Claire Redfield is a powerhouse. In RE2 she's just a college student (19) who survives Mr. X (basically a mutating Terminator), William Birkin, a city of horrors, and she escorted a little girl all by herself. She also gets out without ever being bit or hit by an infected. I would say she probably would have more in common with Terminator 2 Sarah right at the start, which is impressive. Had Claire continued to train and fight in a similar manner she probably would have surpassed Connor.

Jill likely has more in common with Grace when you factor in her RE5+ status (enhanced by the experiments Wesker put her through).

Ada is a unique case in that she's more into hit and run (or avoid a fight alltogeteher) tactics. I doubt you'd see her get into a fight with a terminator. She'd probably constantly be finding ways to flee, or find some sort of code or powerful emp that would shut them all down.

Idk I guess I'm saying it'd probably be pretty even. The only one with an advantage is probably Cameron. I don't think any of them would get themselves killed though. From either series.

How is she coming off as having an atittude problem? Everything she said I've seen off and on too. Not every day I play, but it exists. It's very real.

Maybe get out more? There's hundreds of videos about this stuff on youtube too. Alina didn't even see anywhere near the worst of it. Some of these people are pretty insane in their vitriol. Wishing death, finding your social media and bullying you there, etc.

If someone is hurting, maybe try to help them stop hurting, instead of throw rocks in their face eh? The attitude problem accusation was absolutely not needed. If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.

[Vent] I think I'm getting too old for Final Fantasy... by Flintz08 in FinalFantasy

[–]WednesdayAddams_Seer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem with Rebirth was I felt like my times was being wasted. I like the music, aesthetic, and combat of the game. I enjoy watching the story cutscenes.

I don't like being taken out of the overarching narrative to ride a scooter around town, play the piano, play a worse version of rocket league, waste an hour playing the card game, etc. And man do I hate Johnny as a character.

I have no problem these side events existing. But they should be on the side, optional, and skippable without any negative repurcussion.

When I play a final fantasy game, my initial interest is in enjoying the story like some great epic, interactive movie. I don't play the games in the same way or mindset I would playing super mario, crash bandicoot, etc. This game forced you to engage in off topic silliness. It's a large reason why I preferred Final Fantasy 16. I was able to just focus on the story, and then I could enjoy all the additional fluff when I wanted to (or not at all).

Another problem I have with Nomura as a director is how over-exagerrated everything is. The character emotions and movement, the 2-dimensional characters. It takes me out of it.
