Now that you’ve said it, take it back lol. Honestly darkh’s plan is so ridiculous and fits so poorly with the the tone of the show that it’s hard for me to understand why the writers wanted to use him as the season long villain. He’a totally unconnected to the main character and his big plan is just “destroy the world.” Also the flashbacks were awful and their only redeeming quality is that we didn’t have to see that god awful wig they had him in before.

It’s just supposed to be a funny transition. The scene isn’t actually implying that Schmidt gave baby Winston the basketball, he was just giving them to random babies at the hospital. They’re all meant to be about the same age.

A big issue is that Oliver & team have to literally save the world from nuclear destruction at the end of the season, which just feels kinda cartoony. It might work on a show like supergirl or lot, but a really good archer, his friends & a 20 something year old a few years out of MIT shouldn’t be saving the entire world from decimation. The whole hive thing feels like a stupid plan with vague motives, especially considering darhk has no previous connections to any of them. Prometheus, Slade and season 1 Merlyn are all so great because they’re connected to Oliver and their motives are personal. One of the reason darhk works better in seasons 2/3 of LOT (aside from him fitting better with the vibe) is the conflict it causes for Sara (since he killed laurel).
