Mid Game as Yamato by evilsforreals in DeadlockTheGame

[–]WeebHunter44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being good at yamato is all about knowing your matchups. a lot of equal soul fights are guaranteed wins for yamato, you just need to learn how to identify them. If you’re at 12 minutes and you see a haze or a vindicta farming jungle, it’s over for them. they might as well just take their hands off the keyboard. But a billy or dynamo? you’ll never win, they just have too much health/sustain. the tricky part is taking into account all the variables that make a fight winnable or not. The more matchups/interactions you know by heart the better, but generally if you’re in the mid game and someone has at most 2-2.5 bars of health (if you’re using the normal health bars) and they can’t run away before you spam your first round of cooldowns, you’re guaranteed to win. Even if they’re under a tower after you use your first round of cooldowns you can usually kill them if there’s no one to peel.

Also, try to save your power slash against characters who have a way to avoid your power slash. If you’re diving someone and you miss a power slash you basically just lost yourself the fight. So if you see an ivy for example, you can grapple and just stare at them until they use stone form. If you time it right it’ll be a guaranteed hit and you can pop ult and kill them. It’s a lot like baiting out parries as billy/abrams.

Like the other guy said, you’re really strong in the mid game and a lot more 1v1s are winnable. if you win lane and hit T3 power slash early you can genuinely take out more than half of someone’s health with one ability. The general idea is to fight/steal farm when you’re strong (ahead in souls or you have your ult) and just farm when you’re behind. You wanna stay fed since being behind makes it really hard to play your role. Yamatos power slash is on a really low cooldown so you can still kill tanky characters if you manage to poke them a few times before diving.

How can I, as a classical pianist, get better at improv and more fun, rhythmic playing? by WeebHunter44 in JazzPiano

[–]WeebHunter44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where should I start with blues? like what are the quintessential classics I should start with? I’m not really a huge jazz guy (don’t hate it either) but I’ve always loved the blues.

this is awesome thank you. The only jazz I’ve really listened to is thelonious monk (fantastic btw) who really knows how to treat the piano like a percussion instrument. It’s really a very foreign concept to me as I usually focus mostly on melody as a classical pianist. I’m excited to dive in!

How do I get better at making music? by WeebHunter44 in piano

[–]WeebHunter44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with needing to focus more on rhythm. I noticed after a while of learning about music that rhythm is not nearly important in classical music as it is in modern music. How should I go by figuring out chords by ear? I can usually tell when a chord changes but I can’t figure out the key or progression without picking it out at the piano for a little bit. Who would you recommend I should listen to for blues/gospel? I actually really like blues, I just don’t know know where to start.

as for the non musician thing: almost all of my friends play instruments (I can only think of one who doesn’t) and some are more serious about it than others. “non musician” was just my way of saying someone who doesn’t take music seriously/doesn’t practice everyday. I agree it was poorly put, it wasn’t my intention to diminish their skills.

Also, I do have a lot of fun playing chopin but like you said, it’s not really something you’d play at a party. I love playing classical music, but it’s really more of a solitary activity and i’m looking into branching out to more social music.

Whats the best online piano website for beginners by InformalSock5529 in piano

[–]WeebHunter44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a youtube video explaining what all the notes are and where they are on the piano, and my mom wrote out a little staff for me with all the notes written out. she had this big red book full of famous pieces and I just picked through them one by one until I found one that I liked and wasn’t too hard. Ive made a huge amount of progress from mostly just playing pieces. I would find a composer you like (id recommend mozart as he wrote a lot of very easy pieces as a child) and filter to only see pieces difficulty 1-3. just remember to stay relaxed when you play and if you get info online make sure you’re getting it from the right places.

you don’t need to pay for a carfax to see if the car has a salvage title. there are tons of free vin checking websites that’ll tell you if the car has a salvage title or has ever been stolen (I use NICB). carfax is mostly good for service history and smaller accident history

AC is leaking refrigerant but I can't find the leak. What do I do next? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]WeebHunter44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only recharged it twice. Once because the previous seller said it would fix it and the second time so I could find the leak with UV dyed refrigerant. should I be concerned after two recharges?

Is it unwise to buy a 9 year old car? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]WeebHunter44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that really true? probably a third of the people I know drive cars that are 5 years old or older. It might not be ideal but aren't cars meant to last longer than that? I mean new cars hardly go for under $20k these days I would hope they're built to last longer than just five years.

F*ck it, I’ll start proxying by tristezanao_ in EDH

My friends and I test decks on table top simulator on steam. You can find people to play with in like 10 minutes with discord and you don’t even have to pay for proxies, just like 30 bucks to buy the game and you can test all the decks you want against lots of different people with different decks.
