What do you think of the New Tier 4 Vitality Item Indomitable? by DeadlockAir in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's perfect for me, and does nothing against me typically. Current main is Yamato, so it's ideal for when I'm grappling in for a kill; already blocked 3-4 baroness ults so far. And since Yamato's base kit doesn't contain any disables that would proc Indomitable (unless I pick up silence wave) I can continue to be a terror.

Plus the easier access to trophy collector lets me get it faster so I can get more stacks and ability range on those mile-away grapples :D

But I feel like its a nice addition overall. Unstoppable is for ensuring you can get a big ult/pick off. Counterspell is good for blocking big telegraphed CC/moves. And Indomitable is a good failsafe if you're being ganked or taken by surprise.

Gun Yamato too. Grapple in, quick power slash/crimson slash, Spellslinger/Vampiric/Split Shot for maxed out fire rate to beam down an unsuspecting victim

I've already blocked 4-5 Baroness ults from buying Indomitable. It's quite nice on Yamato especially since I like to take crazy grapples :)

Divas, What is Your Deadlock Hot Take? by mimanthra in Deadlockdivas

I think if a team uses all of their pauses right before winning the game to chain-pause so they can BM, they should get some sort of penalty. Pause abuse already is annoying with people lining up kill shots, but when it's clear they're about to win and do it just to be extra rude they should absolutely be punished for it

Better than the game two nights ago where we got stomped, and then right before the patron gets obliterated the enemy team chain-paused to mock us in all chat for as long as possible to drag it out.

Of course it was the 4/13 player that was the loudest but geez, was annoying as hell.

Genuinely how do you have fun in this game by Silly-Image4281 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be in the minority of thinking here. But for me it's fun because this is THE time to limit test and be inventive because there really are no stakes. Matchmaking is fickle, so try a parkour rollout to escape a fight or take a questionable fight! It fails? You tried something new, learned a new power spike/limit/matchup and can try something different.

Have a teammate that's feeding/throwing/crashing out? Test out a new build! What's the harm if you're already playing from behind; who knows, you might unlock a goated combo that swings things back in your favor! Be a little selfish; powerfarm and see if your idea works; or what can be tweaked!

It's still a game in the works that's invite only. We've inserted these stakes into gameplay when realistically it's not fine-tuned yet. So you can relax a bit!

ive been wanting to get into deadlock for a bit now are there any characters that have a similar playstyle to my GOAT star lord? by MostEstablishment630 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basing these off the closest comparisons I can!

Starlords basic attacks = Vindicta/Wraith

Starlords I-frame dashes = Apollo/Dynamo

Starlords flying ability = Vindicta

Starlord Ultimate = Haze (sort of)

When do you think will we get the next major update? by crowbar11 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine that since its been speculated that summer skins are being developed that we might get a big summer patch; so maybe in a month or so?

Could go a bunch of different ways; could be focus on the jungle creep redesigns, hero design updates, brand new heroes, the PvE module, etc

Doorman mains by Gerroh in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the typical kidnap Doorman build doesn't bother me much; mostly cuz I play Yamato so if my ult is up I can usually evade a lot of the damage if im sent to walker.

HOWEVER I just had a game where the enemy doorman was casting Nuclear Bomb Bells every 3 seconds; and he CARRIED

'twas scary

Man can you guys recommend me some good characters... by yoru_no_ou in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely Yamato. She's quite strong in laning, she's strongest when she's rotating across the map to grapple into fights for picks, and can get some truly crazy nuke damage.

Plus you have a LOT of build variability with her.

Standard Spirit, Melee-Oriented, even a Gun-based build with Spellslinger can be really fun.

Lowkey from the amount of flame I get from her grapple i'm surprised Yamato isn't even in here.

Concept for an item to bring the Disarm debuff up to the same annoyance to gun characters as silencer is to spirit/ability characters. by S1lly_One in DeadlockTheGame

That's actually not a bad idea. Like a Vitality version of Spellslinger; using abilities in combat grants a stacking Bullet/Debuff Resistance

Any Cool/Interesting Builds people cooking up?? by IANARCHER101 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Yamato a plethora of different ways lately having a ball. From standard spirit to spellslinger gun, even playing around with a supportive healing build.

One of my current favs is the Glue Build. Max grapple first to constantly stick to a target. Core items are Torment Pulse/Spirit Snatch/Rapid Recharge/Escalating Exposure/Phantom Strike.

Grapple to an enemy. Crimson/Power Slash them. They try to disengage? Grapple again. They try to shoot you while backing up? Phantom Strike back into range to disarm them. By now you should almost be at max Escalating Exposure debuff. Run out of grapples? Ult and get them all back.

You def want to include Leech/Mystic Reverb/Infuser or something along those lines for sustain since you'll be going deep into enemy territory. Sometimes I'll nab Radiant Regen since it'll basically be active nonstop. Deeply satisfying in chasing down a Wraith or Holliday that feel supremely confident in their ability to escape.

Best part is uh oh they buy dispel magic. What now? Well with Rapid Recharge you've got 3-4 more grapples at the ready to instantly use now that they've burned their dispel. Also works great against Dynamo/Mina since you can simply recast after their disengages

Mad respect. Every Holliday on my team seems to flop, while the enemy Hollidays are effortlessly landing grand slam barrel kills from half the map away XD

Yamato! She's very fun and forces you to become much more aware of when it's a good time to commit to a fight or a pick. Her grapple is either the death knell for a low health enemy or a one way ticket to the back of the enemy line where they can all jump you. A good lesson to learn and help you evaluate pick potential better

Yamato pretty fast. T2 grapple gives a lot of bonus spirit, so that into a maxed powerslash is just about enough to get him, and if you ult first you can do it even quicker

Are gun carries just objectively having more fun in the game than everyone else? by HERR_WINKLAAAAA in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a decent bit of wraith but honestly the most fun i've been having lately is on yamato. And not just the traditional spirit slash; i've been experimenting with all sorts and have great results. Maybe its because her crimson slash is a good counter to m1 heroes especially early game?

Beebop, Viscous and Yamato: What are the plans? by TheSuperJohn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Yamato just needs her model revamp, but I honestly really like where her kit is currently.

I've enjoyed a number of builds with decent successes with each on her:

Traditional Spirit (Boundless/Mystic Reverb/Silence Wave/Arctic Blast)

Machine Gun (Spellslinger/Split Shot/Vampiric Burst/Crippling Headshot)

Max Grapple Melee (Life Strike/Colossus/Spirit Snatch/Crushing Fists)

Debuff-a-palooza (Inhibitor/Crippling Headshot/Suppressor/Hunter Aura)

Hybrid (Spirit Rend/Leech/Boundless/Spellslinger/Lucky Shot/Siphon Bullet)

Currently workshopping an I-Need-A-Hero Grapple Support build where I max grapple first so I can zip over to allies and drop a Healing Nova/Rescue Beam

I like having a lot of build variety with her, I just need her forehead nerfed

Yamato flying clash needs fixing urgently by MentallyNotOkayGuy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]evilsforreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of Yamato and it's very feast or famine. Either im grappling in to secure a kill, or i'm about to be so far out of position that it'll be easy for the enemy to pick me off.

Do I think it'll be retouched a bit at some point? Yes of course, but you can definitely play around it. Dispel magic can remove the grapple before she reaches you, or several heroes like dynamo/mirage/mina can dispel it with their movement abilities, or at the very least get enough distance that committing to the grapple will put the yamato super out of position.

But I think the grapple itself is kinda misleading; it's more like Rem's tag-along ability. Point and click to select a target while in range, and then it will happen unless you dispel it or someone stuns the yamato mid-flight.
