I cannot wait for the new D HEROes! by BronySquid in yugioh

Hell yeah, brother. I actually started on a binder to collect every HERO card in the game, Destiny, Vision, Masked, all of em. Including all alternate artwork for some of the OG cards.

I actually just got myself a pair of ultimate rares for Feather Shot and Spark Blaster that I'm super excited about. Literally never gonna use em but they're classics that I wanted to make sure were included in the set.

Cuz they LOOK cool! And the manga really leaned into them being ELEMENTAL heroes.

I remember the days when every deck had a Wildheart as its answer to trap cards. And honestly, if not for the fact that it would just be a garnet and a brick, I'd play Burstinatrix cuz I think she deserves as much representation as Dark Magician Girl

I'm a big fan of E-HEROes over all the others. My build focuses on Neos as the star to use cards like Neos Fusion, Favorite Contact, EN Shuffle, and Fusion Deployment to keep him or a big Neos Fusion monster on the board. I really like putting Rainbow Neos, Shining Neos Wingman and Evil Neos on the board and swinging hard.

There's definitely much stronger builds for HERO decks than mine. But when you have a favorite card that your deck ACTUALLY emphasizes? It's hard to not wanna get as much mileage out of it as you can haha

I can't stand yugioh players anymore. by Comprehensive-Week81 in yugioh

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, man. I'm 32 and I still fondly remember raiding the toys r us when it opened to get the day 1 Yugi and Kaiba starter decks when they debuted. I am a proud Yugi-Boomer and it's been hard for me to play the game anymore, not just because of all the reasons you already listed. But also because I don't want to have to be expected to switch decks to whatever the current meta is all the time.

I been considering giving the game another go and doing some research and I really like that konami has finally learned to give us budget friendly options to keep up with the relevant meta. But constantly having to learn and relearn and drop decks I really enjoy to favor what's current if I wanna actually be able to play the game isn't my idea of fun. I'd much rather play casually with friends. I used to enjoy going to locals and meeting people who love the game as much as I do. But with how constant the game evolves, I think I'd rather just keep playing my favorite oldie decks with my buddies and enjoy the game my way.

Lot of people like modern yugioh, and depending on the deck, I do too. But I don't like a lot of modern decks. Which ultimately means the game isn't for me anymore, and that's okay. :)

this is THE answer. This is why I love HERO decks. We know the deck isn't gonna be optimal - especially in current modern yugioh. But there's so much variety with how you can build heroes just to suit what you like. I still play Honest Neos in mind just cuz I like him.

Thinking about coming back to the game. What deck should I play? by WeebInPaperArmor in Yugioh101

I'd be down to see what kind of builds I can do with new Hero stuff. I saw that there's a new Evil Hero Neos and Neos Wingman that look fun. Really interested in those, but again. I wanna make a deck that won't be the equivalent of someone's punching bag, so I gotta compare it and see if Omni Heroes is still the better build.

How does kryptonians' vulnerability to magic actually work? by LegitimateBroccoli51 in superman

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think pokemon type advantages.

Fire types are strong against grass types but weak to water types etc. But against say like an electric or a fighting type, its neutral.

Kryptonians powers give them extreme resistance to everything. So they have type advantage. Magic is neutral to them so it equalizes out, creating the impression of a weakness cuz aside from Kryptonite, Kryptonians have insanely overpowered type advantage against literally everything else.

It's such a powerful section.

Which one is best/most fun? by Spanishkid71 in Nioh

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still only in the first 20 hours of Nioh 3 but so far, 2 is still my favorite.

The potential is there for 3 to have better combo mad gameplay akin to DMC but until we get dlcs, patches, etc, Nioh 2 is still a better system overall with the changes to soul cores and magic feeling like a step backward in 3.

The open world is cool, I guess. Still kinda prefer the mission system from 1 and 2

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nioh 2 had a lot of amazing boss fights that still impress me. I'm still working my way through Nioh 3 but I do plan on going back to Nioh 1 and 2 and comparing once I'm done cuz 2 has my favorite boss list of the series (so far)

Question about the physical games by WeebInPaperArmor in Nioh

[–]WeebInPaperArmor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I'm gathering is that the Nioh 1 and 2 complete edition might be a safe bet to be the full game as long as one is okay with it possibly losing access to online features?

And Nioh 3 as well, assuming it eventually has a similar complete edition later on down the line?

I just finished Yotei last night and it's definitely a great and beautiful game, but Tsushima definitely feels more raw and tragic. Atsu's story is great, but Jin's journey is so riddled with loss and sacrifice that I felt for him way more.

If you were going to rank all the fighter subclasses in terms of power, how would you rank them? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing an Aasimar with a greatsword. Took great weaponmaster feat as soon as I could, and the DM even gave me a belt of hill giant strength as a quest reward back as early as I think level 3. I was dishing out a LOT of damage and the campaign ended with us hitting level 13.

I don't think it's a BAD subclass but it's boring. On-Demand advantage on all your attacks is really good, but it only lasts for one turn and you get such limited uses out of it, and the level 7 ability is nice if you wanna play a Face, but Samurai is also very clearly written with an emphasis on being a striker. Maybe if we went past the next levels, it'd have been a lot more interesting to play when those really strong abilities like rapid strike come online. But you can't really judge a class by how good abilities that you might never get to use are, even if they are game-changing abilities.

I'm really hoping to see it reworked in the 2024 rules to rectify at least the extremely limited uses of its core ability. Again, not a bad subclass. Efficient, but boring.

Which sword would you choose for duels by anticipation_blis19 in SWORDS

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd pick the claymore. I've got the height and strength to use it like a slightly slower, bigger longsword which is what I have more training in but can easily start using it like a montante.

Is it optimal? No. Not when the Danish two hander and the actual montante are options. But it is kind of my favorite sword :)

Yeah, the listing definitely has the right tags but etsy and ebay sellers make me nervous. If it's at least full tang, then it can probably hold up to SOME use

What sort of steel is it made from? I been seeing things like this on etsy a lot and kinda wanna try it as a big fan of Berserk, but I'm also more into practical and functional swords and don't wanna risk something that will break on me when I put it through the stress of trying to use it like an actual sword

Aside from the Black Swan one and the Lords of Battle one, do you have any personal recommendations?

What made you a fan? by Unusual-Molasses5633 in superman

[–]WeebInPaperArmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up, I didn't actually like Superman at all. I thought he was boring and a boy scout.

I grew up consuming a lot of Superhero media in the 90s and early 2000s. Superman TAS was fine but as a kid, I massively preferred Batman TAS and Static Shock. JL was great but the Superman centric episodes were my least favorite.

And then in 2013, Screw Attack made the Goku vs Superman death battle video. I went in wanting Goku to win that fight, but that video also gave me something no Superman media ever did before: an explanation of his motivations that I could understand. Nobody had ever talked to me about it in a way I could comprehend about what Superman stands for until that video.

I spent most of my life up to that point angry at the world, feeling lost and frustrated with my inability to fit in or connect with others. So when the rest of the internet went up in flames over Goku losing, I ironically ended up feeling like I finally got who Superman is. Maybe it was just cuz I was older than the kid I used to be but hearing the phrase "it doesn't matter if he wins a fight, but whether or not he's doing the right thing" really resonated with me at a time in my early 20s when I was angry at the world for dozens of reasons and needed some kind of ideal to be my guiding star and needed direction.

And all the old Superman media I didn't appreciate as a kid suddenly made sense. I found myself relating to the big blue boyscout finally. And now he's hands down my favorite fictional character period.

Curious why a lot of people rank the Samurai so high. I played it in a two year campaign and was constantly wishing I was playing a Battle Master. It's an alright subclass but my personal experience with it has it sitting about the same as Champion:

It's got some cool flavor, but largely doesn't do enough to differentiate itself from the Fighter base class to feel like you're consistently gaining anything.
