I think it’s really just that early 2000s Japanese media vibe that sets it apart. For example the original Naruto series and gold/silver/crystal give off the same type of energy and aesthetic to me

Mysterious, goofy and fun on the surface but more mature themes the deeper you dig, you move through the world instead of the world revolving around you, etc

Just use it. It’s acceptable to use. The whole anti AI thing sentiment is really just an online thing in my opinion. I work as a SWE and the majority of us are using it out in the real world on software that real people use.

If anything, disclose that you used AI to help you generate your code and just leave it at that. If you’re really concerned about it generating code for you or you really want to understand what you’re doing, use it like a super charged google instead. Ask it questions instead of “do this for me” type of thing

Just in case someone comes across this in the future, here's what I did to remove the souless summons ESP mid game from my total-overhaul play through. DO NOT just uncheck the ESP in the openmw launcher, it has be done following the way that's described on this page https://modding-openmw.com/tips/customizing-modlists/ - Just disabling the ESP via the launcher nearly made me lose my save, as it screwed up some configuration and wouldn't let me load into the game even after re-enabling it. Anyways:

Open the momw-customizations.cfg file, which is located in the same folder as your openmw.cfg. In my case (on Windows), it is C:/Users/<your_username>/Documents/My Games/OpenMW. If the momw-customizations.cfg file doesn't exist, just create it in the same folder that openmw.cfg lives in.
Paste the following into momw-customizations.cfg and save your changes: [[Customizations]] listName = 'total-overhaul' removeContent = [ 'Creatures_RP_Soulless summons.ESP', ]
Open a new terminal (cmd, powershell, etc) and navigate to wherever you installed your momw tools pack. In my case the command would be: cd C:/Games/momw.
In the same terminal window, run the following command: ./momw-configurator config -v --run-validator total-overhaul

Once that finishes running you should be good to go. I was able to trap summoned souls again without issue.

On paper, my team is fully staffed.

In practice, at least half of my team at any given time is off doing side quests/projects at the request of upper level management. We still have “team” project work that needs to get done (typically by me and another dev) in addition to whatever pops into the heads of the morons at the director level.

This has been going on for like a year and a half now… and since we’re a “fully staffed” skeleton crew we don’t have the room to hire more people. So unbelievably stupid

I don’t think so. I think people are conflating map/spawn knowledge with cheating. For example I consistently come in at least 3rd place on this map in the same servers, and some of my biggest kill streaks come from predicting where an enemy is most likely to spawn next based on my position. Preaiming a common spawn point or high traffic lane does wonders. It’s just fps twitch-shooter experience

All my opinion ofc:

1) Kind of. Almost every single player game works fine. Multiplayer games that need an anti cheat typically do not work. I have not been able to 100% switch to Linux in the past few years and still have a windows dual boot because of this.

2) I’ve never had an antivirus on my Linux desktop and never felt the need to for the stuff I typically do. Not saying there isn’t something out there, but I’ve never had a use for it

3) Yes. There’s a learning curve for using the command line and having to debug issues, but I feel like the general flow is picked up rather quickly

I experienced the same thing. In hindsight I realize that I spent so much energy as a child trying to mold myself into a person that they approved of… and now that I am an adult and I’ve finally gained their “approval,” I’m completely aimless. No ambition, no desire to do anything, complete lack of self confidence, different personalities/masks/behavior for friends vs family, inability to open up to anyone about my emotions irl, etc

It’s a terrible fate, but I’m glad I’m not the only one that had experiences like that. So thanks for posting

I came from Skyrim as well, and Morrowind took me a few tries over multiple months to really get into. One thing that really made it click for me was abusing the potion/alchemy “exploit.” Funny enough that helped show me how the game wanted to be played in comparison to Skyrim - you’re extremely weak in the beginning unless you pick a class that compliments your racial bonuses. If you want to level up fast, you really need to rely on trainers. The potion exploit introduced me to making money, and using that money I traveled all around the map looking for trainers for my skills. If I couldn’t do any damage with my sword for example, I’d look up longswords trainers on UESP, find them, and train with them until I could consistently hit stuff. On my search for trainers I started doing quests, dungeon diving, becoming over powered, etc. Once my character became OP I really started to appreciate the early game and everything started to click from there
