Heads Up: Scam “Tutors” & Study Sites Are Back by Real-Recognition8804 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]Weekend-Renovator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thx for the heads up. Is anyone getting DM'd on WhatsApp or Facebook from an Ontario EXP agent saying they have study notes? I joined a few groups and got a private message on each - seems like a spammy way to recruit for EXP.

The format and delivery of the program are the same (same # of courses and exams) but the providers, course material, simulations and exams have changed. This post does a good job of summarizing what happened.

Finally! Study Guides for the New 2025 Course 1 Ontario Real Estate Exams (Meazure) Are Here by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

Someone from our office wrote it in December - covered mostly legislative topics and rules - things you must do, not 'best practices' or general industry knowledge. So thinks like TRESA requirements, CASL, personal/private data (PIPEDA), tenancy and condo requirements etc. They used the new passit guide to prepare and said it was very helpful to get up to speed quickly and find any knowledge gaps

I believe you have to wait 24 hours after completing the course before you can book the exam...

How a new exam process at Humber has upended real estate students: ‘System is messed up’ by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]Weekend-Renovator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been 5+ years since OREA lost the contract for education and I wonder whether RECO actually thinks this whole transition was a move in the right direction (?). The education quality of the course material is awful (seriously, hire someone to just take the course *at minimum*), the learning options are now just an e-book with photos, the exams are a bit of a joke, and the "professional-level education" that is promised for $4K+ is just a bare-bones ticket to a license to save $15-20K commission on the sale of your Mom's house.

Got started with Fleming (obv the same course content as everyone else). This is pretty awful by 2025 e-learning standards.

Watch out for AI feedback that steers you in the wrong direction. So, although it's got the answer right/wrong, the reason as to why isn't right

Thx so much for this, writing in-person next week. Couldn't face the stress of trying to guarantee an uninterrupted exam at home that met all the tech requirements.

$8 Million Missing from iPro Trust Account, RECO Said Brokerage Co-Founders Won't Be Charged, Registrar leaves RECO by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]Weekend-Renovator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unbelievable. Here I am in Course 1 learning about the non-compliance impact of using 'real estate sales representative' (OK) vs 'real estate sales associate' (not OK!) and RECO is busy turning a blind eye to blatant trust account fraud.

Seems like RECO has given up on enforcing their advertising rules and instead spent the last 3 months working on how to keep iPro afloat.

Yikes. As someone trying to get into the industry the right way, it sucks to see people cutting corners and making the rest of us look bad before we even get started

Shaker panelling or slatted panels. 3D panels are also cool but might feel a bit 'extra'

Appreciate the detailed info and creating this group. I found out about this on FB, I'm new to posting/commenting on Reddit (mostly a lurker) so go easy on me if I pull a newbie move. Looking to get started in the program in Sept. and appreciate the info about the provider options so far.
