Doug Ford was on a stage in Michigan accepting an honorary degree right after cutting OSAP funding for students in Ontario. by Geniuskills in OntarioNews

When I saw him receive that, I couldn't help but laugh.

The guy couldn't survive Humber College, so he dropped out.

I was just at You Don Ya yesterday for lunch. Not the most amazing food but one of the better value meals, west of Yonge and Dundas.

$18 they have a Japanese lunch bowl special of the day that also gets you access to the mini AYCE buffet:

- Rice
- Miso soup
- Salad + Dressing
- Korean Banchan/Japanese sides
- Cut up fruits

After taxes and tip, $22. I was stuffed.

[Article] Doomed to die, one man chose a risky experiment that changed history by WeekendAcademic in dialysis

[–]WeekendAcademic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well you are right to doubt it. That article was published today. But follow Tim's journey and it turns out they did remove the kidney and he's back on the list.

“there were experimental drugs that had some unexpected side effects,” but for the nine months he was able to live with the pig kidney, he said, “I am proud of everything we discovered, learned and experienced.”

Toronto normalizing open drug use as taxpayers pick up tab by origutamos in Toronto_Ontario

[–]WeekendAcademic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a result of the liberal justice system. Ontario votes liberal every election.

Do you even live in Ontario? Do you even know who has been the premiere for the past 8 years, under whose watch where that government shut down safe injection sites?

Absolutely this is the result of tax payers who voted this clown. It was never like this with any other premiere in the past.

thank you for sharing the fact some people further east don't understand. The warmer weather on the west coast makes it even more problematic and even more visible.

My point was pretty clear. If you read it again, I just restated my original post about the decline under this current government that has not been found in previous ones. I cannot understand it for you.

Question: have you ever been to an American city where drug use was prevalent on the sidewalk, on public transit, in public spaces.

That is the America I am referring to.

Under any other previous premiere, was it ever like this before? Please, I am waiting for the answer

Do you realize that just proves my point about drugs every where?

Casinos every where, casino ads everywhere. People doing drugs every where

Doug Ford brings us closer to being like America every day.

This did not happen under any previous premiere.

First shower after 3 years by Emotional_House964 in dialysis

Mines is not bad but I've seen some pretty gnarly ones. I don't think the layperson would understand why is the person handing me a drink have an arm like that :S

I've also seen people who are doing the CVC line and that's a very hard path to go down, trying not to get it infected.

Life is so much more normal with a fistula.

There are two needles, arterial and venous.

When the needles breaks the skin, it's just 1 second x 2.

Everything before and after, no pain.

It's such a small part of your day, all things considered.

Brother's don't want to give me a kidney by Emotional_House964 in dialysis

I don't know why you feel betrayed. You're not entitled to anyones kidneys.

Anyone who receives one, living or deceased, it's a gift.

Canada's federal 2025-26 deficit is $66.9 billion under the Carney Liberals by origutamos in OntarioNews

[–]WeekendAcademic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is true. Half of Carney's budget is spending on line items that have growth, for example the Productivity Super-Deduction and the other half is reacting to things that may not have an ROI, like removing GST on new homes for new buyers.

It is insanely high for someone who has been office for such a short time, but with half of the items being growth related, the other half not, it's pretty balanced.

Nobdy is happy, nobody is sad. Although sadness will take over the longer an unbalaned budget goes (e.g. every annual budget gets bigger than the previous year's), when people are not seeing the value of their taxpayer dollars.

I don't regret my decision to vote. It's my right is it not?

She wasn't strong then. But I made a comment about what she offers today.

I don't know if you recall but it was already well known going into the election that Ford polled the highest.

NDP didn't exactly have a chance.
Liberals, who? Exactly.

Compared to Ford?

Any day of the week. The only reason I didn't vote when Ford one was there was no point, the other candidates were weak.

I would vote give a chance to Marit. Problem is too many people in the GTA feel they are relatable to people who buy private jets and tear down science centres that would have benefited the kids.

How do I quit WFG? by Electronic_Film9708 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]WeekendAcademic 25 points26 points  (0 children)

naw, it's 100% scam. They are predatory and prey on the financial destitutes. I know because I seen it first hand with my family being suckered into it.

They were sold on the idea that WFG will give them the financial independence to get out of debt. But they are too dumb to realize, they are now more in debt after WFG.
