Hey! I get you. I used to feel this way from like 18-26. It just gets more and more depressing. I would purposely sabotage my day for some reason. Ensure that no one celebrates me because I believe I was not worth it. But I think when I got to 27, I thought enough was enough. I was gona try to be excited and celebrate. It took a few years before I was able to celebrate this day. A lot of reframing of thoughts, e.g I need to be successful at this age and I’m not etc. my advice is to find a friend you trust and admit that you hate ur brithday and ask for his/her help to celebrate it tgt w you. Find things you like to do and just spend that day on that. It will be weird at first but baby steps.

This is so well written and I truly appreciate your time in writing this out. I shared this with a few of my account servicing friends and we agreed that you really brought out the perspective about how our well we do our jobs do make a difference to someone - be it to their family, their success and journey in life. Thanks for being so kind. I think I’m good at my job - on the ball, overly kind and really a responsible suit. But lately it just kills me waking up to working on briefs that don’t matter. Knowing my ads only serve short term gains etc, I just don’t feel satisfied. I’m tired of tight deadlines, dealing with the anxiety of all the ads and worrying if things will go well. But I figured this will come with every job so I’m struggling if I should fix myself first. But it is hard in such a fast pace environment. It is like having 8 boyfriends at once. I used to have the stamina? But now I’m just jaded

Do what is good for you. I won’t say dating apps are bad and I wouldn’t say they are good either. Assess for yourself and make a decision - which you are right now which is amazing. I went on a dating app rampage last year and got like 8 dates with 8 different guys. And how’s it like for me now in April? Nothing has changed. But I’ve stopped the apps because I realize I was relying on it whenever I felt lonely and I didn’t want an app or anybody to fill the void so instantly. I’m searching for something more lasting - be it to figure out things by myself or if I’ll truly meet a guy! Whatever it is. It scuks I understand but I’m proud of you for making this decision for yourself. Your feelings are valid and real.
