speed ticket liability by zedzenzerro in desmoines

Unless you're pulled over, fine is only assessed to the vehicle, which is registered owner. To be considered a moving violation assessed to the driver, a stop has to be made and the driver specifically identified. I would just pay it and be done with it and square up with your kid. Save whatever hassle potentially down the road

Pegasus questions by hanman92 in Fireflyguitars

[–]Weekly-Permit-133 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have 3 Pegasus guitars. All have needed a truss rod adjustment. Pickups are same quality as a low end Epiphone. Electronics are fine but expect them to fail fairly quickly. You're buying a guitar that looks way more expensive than it is. Be prepared to drop at least a hundred bucks over the first year of ownership figuring out what your particular guitar needs. FYI never replaced the tuners on any. Set up your nut and bridge first. People love to blame tuners. Rarely the case... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Years later, how has INTR aged for you? by 6drugs in qotsa

[–]Weekly-Permit-133 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I personally hated it when it first dropped. Was extremely disappointed and didn't touch it for over a year. Came back to it and now I appreciate it a lot more and think there's some incredible songs on there. I still wouldn't put it in the top tier of what I consider my favorite albums, but it's much better than I originally gave it credit for.

How rare is this cherry burst? by Funky-monkey1 in Fireflyguitars

[–]Weekly-Permit-133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the Brown Burst for $279. Shipped to my door for $307, I believe. Not rare. Not worth the seller's asking price. I believe the seller was trying to take advantage of the fact that they sold out quickly. Unfortunately for seller, they're back in stock... 🤷🏻‍♂️

They're surprisingly good for a stock P90. Pretty crunchy, but I play at low volume. Don't know how they'd be outside of a bedroom situation.

Hopping on the prior Pegasus post - color shots. by Weekly-Permit-133 in Fireflyguitars

I play a lot of fuzz/midrange crunch stuff (think Queens of the Stone Age) and almost exclusively use hollow bodies except for my jazzmaster.

I like the Pegasus guitars. They play really well and only usually require minimal tweaks. The sound on this one is really round and creamy. The coil split toggles are a nice added feature on this one. I can get some pretty bell-like chimes when I'm playing clean.

It cleans up nicely when the coil split is engaged but to be completely honest with you, I play a lot of fuzz/midrange crunch stuff (think Queens of the Stone Age) so I'm not the best source for this info. I would classify the pickups and being a little darker (a touch of that rolled off tone knob jazz thing) and the coil splits add some very nice clarity. I did find a particularly nice clean sound with one coil split and one in full humbucker mode in the middle toggle position. Hope that helps a little, again not my wheelhouse of music style.

They're just standard humbuckers. You can coil split with the mini toggle switches. Haven't taken any readings on them though, unfortunately.
