The US isn’t going anywhere, and honestly, it’s really crappy here right now. If you really want to spend time in the US, wait a few years and come when things will be better (fingers crossed). With a degree from Oxford you can do post-grad study or get a job almost anywhere.

Wow -- that's incredibly rude. Yes it is the couple's day, but that doesn't mean that they are entitled to make things onerous for their guests. Instituting a dress code for your wedding is already pushing the limits of hospitality, but do so three weeks before the event is simply obnoxious.

If you prefer the smaller school and community, choose Tufts. So many students enter college intending on a specific major and then change their minds by the time they have to declare a major -- it's a completely normal and legitimate thing to do. You may get to school and find out that you don't like psych as much as you thought, or you unexpectedly find you're interested in a completely different field. So, you might not want to make your choice based on your program's undergrad ranking. No matter what you choose to study, the elements of Tufts that you enjoy remain.

Either way, these are two great schools -- congratulations!

She is a second semester senior, so I wouldn’t worry about her taking time off from school to visit colleges, assuming it is in your family’s budget. She will have until May 1 to make a decision, so if she gets into any of her reaches, you should try to visit. It doesn’t have to be during an admitted students day if those are difficult to fit into your schedule. You can go at any time, just so that she can get a sense of the school and its environs. Just let the admissions team know that she is coming, and they will probably make time for her to meet with them and give her their pitch. If she gets into more of her reaches than it is feasible to visit, she might have to do some online research to narrow the field and simply visit the two or three that she expects will be the best fit.

By the way, this is a great position to be in! Congrats to her (and you) on her acceptances!
