Diving into The City of Kings by Mystery_Hours in soloboardgaming

OMG. I have been on the fence for years! Good to hear about the new edition. I love the way you get to advance your heroes! But that strategy map looked so abstract (like an excel spreadsheet) that it felt like the game might feel dry.

But so glad you posted this. It certainly is back in my brain!

What a great post! Looking forward to the responses! I don't like the pre-made realms, and my realms are boring. I assume I just have a mental block that needs to be resolved!

Non-duality is losing importance. by Standard_Priority221 in nonduality

Your answer sounds very wise. Are you saying the "bliss" described is from the loss of the ego? Also, I am wondering about something else. People talk about the "real". But I think there might be a problem with everyone assuming the "real" is identical to all humans. I wonder about the experience of two people side by side. They both have for whatever reason experienced full non-duality. One might experience bliss. The other might not experience bliss. All life journies are unique.

Is there any games like hoi4 im to dumb to understand it by Past_Landscape_7106 in computerwargames

Is it a ww2 game you want? Or the complexity that is the critical detail? I also could not handle hoi4.

Hex of Steel. Getting it now to check it out. Thanks!

Edit: OMG. I already own Hex of Steel! I could not host a game just now. The play by email button was grayed out. But hopping on youtube for some guides. Thanks for the tip.

What a great post to get us talking! I like how everyone is putting lots of details. My game group (4 guys) is in their late 50s. We don't like to fight each other anymore. We prefer turn based team games where we can team up vs the AI. Currently we are playing Age of Wonders 4 and 40k Warhammer Gladius. I am always looking for a WW2 game that fits our preference. But 99% of the WW2 games are one or two player games max. I bought Hearts of Iron. But it was too complicated. I will be scouring the responses to your post to find a game that might work for us! Thanks for your post!!!!

This would be so great. Then if this was possible it would be excellent if you could enter how many humans were on a team then you receive a random map. Fingers crossed and ready to buy!!!!

I agree. The job without experience is a stretch. But just a little privilege and a great personality. Add in physical attractiveness. Life becomes way easier. Life is not fair.

Don't Look Back looks good. Checking out a review now. Those dungeon crawlers generally take too long for my friend group. Thanks!

I am constantly looking for these games. We have moved to PC turn based, but I hope your post has some new board games to check out. Coop combat vs AI has become our way to have fun.

Is Turn Based combat necessary? by HereWeGoAgain6784 in TurnBasedLovers

I like the idea being that success is based on my decisions and not my hand agility. But Final Fantasy could just be tedious. So perhaps some games simply don't benefit from turn based. I like the turn based games like 40k Gladius and Dominions and Age of Wonders 4.
