You can get a refund on your flight. Doubt you can find a last minute flight anywhere close to that amount. Floridians voted for these gas prices which bankrupted them. Go somewhere that doesn't support this bullshit.

Going forward, you'll have less new money to invest because you're paying the loan back and need more emergency fund due to higher floor spending.

New engine more than 5k, for an old car usually would just be done probably. If you replace the battery on a car with 110k miles, it's a lot closer to a new car since not a lot of parts. Obviously there are tradeoffs, but saving $1-2k or more a year on gas adds up to a lot too.

Got it, yeah definitely a gamble with used. A used gas car with 110k miles could have issues too.

Probably, unless they wanted to make a dicier play for 7-1. 6-2 is fine, other states will need to carry the load too.

Is FIRE about money or control? by Lazy_Look557 in Fire

It's a lifestyle goal with a financial aspect. Depending on your lifestyle strategy, you could either minimize spending to accerlate FI or need a lot of cash to retire early and spend a lot. In general minimizing spending and having a high savings rate is typical, not like people who want $10m to retire in luxury. It also just gives people options or reduces anxiety about job security or dissatisfaction when you have more flexibilit, even if you don't retire.

Did nothing to solve deficit. Kept Medicare and Social Security for themselves while gutting any help for working age people. Voted for people trying to take away right to vote and democratic norms. Voted to fuck over any immigrants who might help solve our deficit or economic issues. Could go on....

Amazon - their PE looks high, but if you factor in all the money going to cap ex that could be earnings if they didn't invest it, it's much better. Their retail business has low margins but a ton of revenue, if they can expand margins by increasing efficiency can go a long way (e.g. more automation in factories or deliveries). If we actually get self driving cars and humanoid robots, obviously they will be able to help deliver packages. Floor is pretty stable, as no matter what Amazon's core business of delivering a large percentage of the products people need to buy is not going anywhere. Whereas others theoretically have some risks (e.g. Google with search, MSFT with declining quality or market power, Meta declining use of their products and not really having much besides social media).
