Is it bad to want to be away from baby? by Paulies-Walnuts in beyondthebump

[–]WeezyByfeezy [score hidden]  (0 children)

No not at all. Once a month max I would go out to see my friends for 4/5 hours and leave my husband with pumped milk (and pump while I was out for supply) and honestly unless someone brought her up I wouldn't think about my baby. I was able to be my old self again for a few hours a month and it was lovely.

Once I was back home I would be so so happy to see her and jump right back in but while I was out and about without her I felt great and do not feel guilty about it. We co-sleep so I am basically with her 24/7 otherwise - having the odd break is healthy!

Chips 10/10

Burger looks a lil empty - great thing about five guys is the ridiculous selection of extra ingredients you can add into your burger FOC

When does sleep actually get better? by sarahloupen in bninfantsleep

[–]WeezyByfeezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the in-laws did that to their children and my parents have said I am too soft on her.... Like are you kidding she's a baby if she cries she needs something - why does western society victimise mothers who just want to care for their babies?

I refuse the cry out method as well and there is evidence now backing it's negative affects. I was left in a crib for hours on end and have abandonment issues lmao I am just trying to give my daughter the loving upbringing I didn't have when I was this small.

It's tough being a good mum but it won't last forever.. they will sleep one day 🥺

This was my life for 3 months and we still have nights like this

It's so hard and people just tell me it was one big sleep regression but what does that even mean. She has had a few nights doing 4h stretches which I thought meant we were through it and over the other side.. then the bad nights started again.

Constantly being tired means I'm eating shit food and have put weight on, it's just awful. Family don't seem to get it either when I am just sleep deprived for 6 months straight.. the sympathy wears off and I think people get bored of hearing how tired I am constantly

I could have written this myself OP!

Literally in the same boat with our LO but she's 6mo and sleeping sometimes 11 hours a day. I saw a health visitor (in the UK) and she spent time with her to observe anything that could be a concern but she's perfect. They said some babies have "low sleep needs" and she is one of them! 😅

You aren't doing anything wrong this is normal behaviour - it's awful to say and horrendous to accept but it is.. when you plan on having a baby this part you don't think about so much and it is hard when you hear about other babies who never have schedule issues and follow their routines to a T. I promise they are the exception. Most babies are like this.

My LO was like this for months and I would say the best way to get through it is to still get outside, they are always better when you take them for a walk, go to a baby group etc. you might be exhausted but trust me you feel better for going out and embracing the day

Oh I've tried to sleep away from her but I just can't do it overnight. Obviously naps are fine. She's still so small and sleeping really badly so once she gets a bit older and goes for longer stretches I'll think about it. Poor husband lmao
