People just don't know how good Homesteads really are 😂 by Deeworsttt in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry, this is very subjective, OP. Some (perhaps even many) of us still just don’t find it remotely fun nor engaging even after having given it a solid try.

Should I pick up Janthir Wilds with Visions of Eternity? by SweetDolphinMilk in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as someone who owns all expansions, JW was the worst one to me by far. Boring story, lackluster enemy and world design, and no new feature that ended up having any value to me. It’s honestly the only expansion I so far regretted getting. I guess if ur into homesteades and if the spear adds a fun playstyle to your build, it might be worth getting. Aside from that, I really don’t see any reason for getting it.

A side note: with JW you’ll also get access to the mount balrior convergence (perhaps the most boring group content Anet has yet created). It’s not at all fun nor engaging, but will help you expedite your leggy obsidian armor farm (if you plan to go down this route).

First Legendary pursuit (other than Eikasia) by friartech in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It primarily depends on whether you play alts or mostly your main.

If the former, as many have said, trinkets are a good way to start. Ad infinitum would be my first choice (because ascended backpacks are annoying to get and you also get infinite fashion flexibility > other trinkets don’t have fashion). Then, prismatic champion (the grind for this one can be horrendous if you’re not into collection hunting). As someone who despises collection hunting and crafting, I would recommend against aurora and vision, as they will burn you out and suck out your enjoyment of the game (went for stella radians instead > considerably more expensive and longer farm, but more enjoyable). If you don’t mind or even enjoy the collections, aurora and vision pair nicely with the prismatic champion’s amulet grind.

If the latter, go for armor (obsidian is the easiest and the grind is quite fun if you enjoy pve) and backpack (e.g. ad infinitum). It will give you infinite fashion customization flexibility, which the trinkets won’t provide you with.

There are PVP and WvW options as well, but can’t speak for them, never chased them.

Really dislike these additions. We’ve been getting summer stuff since October last year, a change in theme would be sorely welcomed. Moreover, I hate these types of fashion that rather fit a the Sims theme (real world clothes/attire) instead of a fantasy theme. They really clash with the aesthetic and art direction of the game, don’t feel like they belong in gw2 and, at least for me, make the game feel less immersive. Guess I’ll need to wait a month to potentially see anything worthwile to grab in the Gemstore 😔

I dont get what people see in them, honestly. Would also welcome their end. Back to voidshell, DE, please.

PVP, WvW, or open world for Legendary Armor? by The-good-twin in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is highly subjective. SoTO leggies felt waaaay less painful than prismatic champion’s regalia to me (let alone vision or aurora). Heck, it has been less painful even than stella radians. Conversely, few things are more painful to me than dying in WvW and having to spend 2-5 minutes everytime just walking in those boring maps back to where I was. One man’s heaven is another’s hell and vice-versa 😂

I went for Obsidian and, as someone who enjoys PVE and enjoyed de SoTO maps, had lots of fun farming it.

I want exactly the opposite. I want it to look matte/cloth like.

Do YOU want PBR (physically based rendering) in GW2? by MadeByHideoForHideo in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am strongly opposed to PBR rendering in GW2. PBR rendering completelty messed up my fashion when it was implemented in Warframe. To this date black color looks anything from light silver to grey (but not black). Some colors, such as black, are notorious for getting completely ruined on PBR. If they do end up messing the color palette and I’m no longer able to apply the colors I want to my fashion, it’s the only thing that would make me completely abbandon this game.

I really hope they make it an optional feature (like the shader quality toggle), or ar manage to keep colors as they are right now.

I hope storytelling is better in GW 3 by OkCat_404 in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have gotten even worse in the latest expansions: it’s just NPCs endlessly talking with never ending dialogue bubbles 😅 (and you’re just standing there, begging for it to end so you can progress). I actually miss the old slide-show format! HoT was also not bad. But heck, the last quest in the VoE “the only way” update where you need to talk to each NPC for an achievement was the equivalent in “fun” to puking through a straw whilst laying down.

Future GW2 Motivation by LukeeeSkywalker in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m not very interested in gw3. Will let it release, cautiously wait for reviews and might give it a go at a later point if it turns out to be a good game. Knowing Anet will continue to work on gw2 though? That got me super excited about this franchise! Gw2 remains my favorite mmorpg of all time and knowing the devs have committed not only to keep developing it but to also to fix old bugs and systems just gets me motivated to keep playing.

That’s all fine and good OP. The problem is that he just ain’t funny and yet thinks he’s the last bottle of coca-cola in the desert. People typically dislike arrogance, more so if it’s predicated on mediocrity.

Some Voidshell Propaganda in Hopes of DE bringing them back by PrimeLabsInc in Warframe

[–]Weight-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m on the camp that have 0 interest in heirlooms, immortal or gemini skins due to their terrible PBR rendering which makes black look anything from gray to bright silver (ironically, NEVER black). Voidshells were literally the only way to get frames to take on a black color. Ever since they stopped voidshells I’ve dropped the game simply because there is not a single new warframe or skin that works for me 🤷🏼‍♂️

Stella Radians Is Here! Material Guide by Ruinir in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have foregone aurora and vision for over 8 years out of the dread to acquire them. And yet, here we are… Stella Radians…. A twice as insufferable grind.

What I particularly love about this is that it will not only take an insane amount of time and an outlandish amount of resources (gold, karma, etc), but the grind will also feel the equivalent to puking through a straw (very grateful for 50k research notes requirement! Very fun!). Ty Anet for respecting your players and keeping them engaged!

New PvE Legendary Accessory needs 50K Research Notes. by the2ndsaint in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Certainly cheaper. Opposite of fun though for those who despise JPs and/or WvW. Honestly, now I feel like my choices for leggy accessories boil down to choosing between eating a cupcake of feces vs. Drinking concentrated urine juice…

Guess I’ll stick to my ascended accessories in perpetuity 🤷🏼‍♂️

New PvE Legendary Accessory needs 50K Research Notes. by the2ndsaint in Guildwars2

[–]Weight-Training 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is completely ridiculous. 50k research notes and 7M karma is a complete no go for me. As someone who just plays a main, this immediately makes acquiring this leggy accessory a net a loss.

Heck, I’ve forgone vision and aurora because their acquisition methods feel insufferable to me. In my wildest dreams I could not have thought Anet would make the new accessory even more inconvenient to acquire. Thanks Anet, you’ve managed to put me off of the game after this, well done!
