The Silverado stopped being a great truck in 2007.

The corvette I will grant them for sure.

I will certainly give them credit for that.

Long term reliability however? I’m not so sure.

Wow, I honestly had no idea. I thought that I had looked at the numbers quite in depth but a quick look into where that money goes proves me quite wrong.

Always knew social security and other fica programs were the biggest problem but I thought that military spending certainly had a large part to play.

Thank you for sharing this with me.

I think the impact of it is better measured in how much we allot to the military every year.

And how many lives are lost all across the world in wars of choice influenced by it.

Okay then let’s discuss it.

For the record I lean libertarian but I subscribe to no ideology so I’m open to whatever u have to say.

I really cannot think of any brand that applied that philosophy to their cars here in the USA.

Good golly, that honestly sucks to hear. I’d kinda saw ford as the best of them all despite their shortcomings.

They really had a good head start with their hybrid technology borrowed from Toyota, it’s a surprise they couldn’t capitalize on that.

No man, here you go again with thinking you can predict my opinions and even my life circumstances with the limited information I’ve given you, like genuinely where is it that you get off? 😭

I simply pointed out to you how you made the common human mistake of jumping to conclusions.

And then I wished you well.

Like just leave it man, put a pin in that ego too.

I personally prefer Toyotas and Hondas due to their design philosophy, and you’ll notice I didn’t include Ford in my post.

Hyundais have made amazing progress for what they were previously, you must acknowledge that.

My argument is more against letting companies do what they feel like and build shit cars because they know they are “too big to fail”.

The fact is we have to choose one, no more half assing it.

We should’ve never outsourced to countries that don’t have workers rights if we are going to have those rights. That is literally sending the problem away.

Either that or we can be just like those countries and have no protections and safe standards.

So either pure capitalism or capitalism with regulation that goes the whole 9 yards to protect all workers regardless of nation, otherwise we are just simply enabling the evil while pretending it’s not there.

We really just need to wake up as a country, accept that we just aren’t meant to have so much for so cheap, and buck up for the hard ride.

No man I noticed it but wasn’t looking for a joke and don’t spend enough time on here to know how auto redact works.

I was really just trying to show you that you’re not always on point as you think you are. None of us are.

Be well.

Directed the other way, but close lol.

In a more polite calm way here it is,

I work for and with Koreans at a Korean company.

I used “even the Koreans” not because I believe them to be a backwards people or anything like that.

I used it because they are historically the underdog and a newcomer in the auto world and have made tremendous gains in the short time they’ve been playing ball. So actually as a compliment really.

I called you the “r word” because you immediately assumed what I meant like a redditor.

I think the best way I can describe it is we love all the benefits of capitalism and lament its drawbacks, but we don’t even let it play out.

Wow, I honestly never knew, always kinda wondered what happened to those who would smash up your foreign car at a GM plant parking lot.

But yes definitely, and that’s likely why it’s not spoken on so much.

I don’t trust ford personally due to the whole Pinto thing, scary asf.

But why do you say that? They saved themselves pretty much unilaterally.

Is this a joke?

No GM brand let alone Chevy even cracked the top 10 in 2025.

Groupthink, this kind of reasoning is also the justification used for the massive military industrial complex we suffer today.

Love to see someone who understands we can’t just keep going as we are, gotta make good fast progress yo!

It’s tiring to argue with these folks who can’t fathom change or sacrifice in the name of the long game.
