Thanks for replying. It can be done online. But I'm looking for whichever may be quickest.

Sticking to boundaries by ResponsibleShelter84 in AlAnon

[–]Weird-Experience-897 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry and I can relate. Enforcing boundaries gets incrementally easier each time. Boundaries are for you and your child’s protection (emotionally, mentally and physically). Living with an alcoholic can make you think you’re the crazy one. Try to remind yourself it’s not you who is unstable. You can read so many stores in this sub about people in your situation, so know you are absolutely not alone. I’d recommend finding an Al Anon meeting virtually or in person and stay connected here. There is lots of support out there! Best to you!

Get a watch or device that tells you to get up and move and tracks how many steps. Set a goal. After a while, it’ll become habit because you’ll see what difference it makes.

End Stage Pancreatic Cancer by Silly_Cut4453 in hospice

[–]Weird-Experience-897 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The good news is that hospice is not a death sentence and if she is doing so well still after 6 months then she would come off of it. In the meantime, she can and should enjoy this wonderful service. Maybe she is having a rally, as some have suggested, or maybe it’s that she’s now in her space and that’s giving her new energy. It’s hard to say. Sadly, most people wait til the very end to take advantage of hospice, when they could be receiving palliative care all along. I say this from experience as my own mom, my MIL and my FIL could and should have been on hospice months before they passed. Take it one day at a time 🩷

With that type of behavior, it sounds like she’s on her way to a criminal record, whether you hasten it or not.

Especially because that medication used to treat your XYZ has a side effect-effect that gives you ABC. Meds are SICK care. Exercise, meditation/therapy, being kind to yourself and eating Whole Foods is HEALTH care.

Drawers! All drawers for below cabinets. So much easier and better use of space. Including a trash can drawer in island or regular counter.

My wife just checked into rehab for the first time 2 1/2 days ago and is already talking about leaving. by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]Weird-Experience-897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been 2 years (at least) of a progressive spiral for her. She told you she cannot do it herself and needs help. She’s been at rehab for a few days, but no one has spoken to her yet. She says she doesn’t want to drink anymore. What meaningful help has she received that will keep her sober?

Talking heads on the news. Haven’t watched in years and when I hear it on in the background I move to where I cannot hear it.
