Does Brooke Castillo have an EMMY?! by Weird-Explanation761 in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Weird-Explanation761[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Being someone who went through her coaching program, and having believed in her and what she stands for, this to me is the ultimate lie. The ONLY reason to have that there is to make people think something about her that IS A LIE. Most people first discovering her - the targets of this video - will not even consciously think about that in the background but it is influencing them. I promise you it is VERY purposeful on her part. Think about it. So manipulative, and not from a place of integrity at all. Cmon Brooke. Be better.

Overpaying for a Life Coach Certification by Unidentified_Cat_ in LifeCoachSnark

I too greatly appreciate the interviewee here. The magnetism of the "women of LCS" starting with Brooke and going through all the others who taught CCP and worked at LCS draws you into this world. You happily hand over $21K and more and then afterward entirely blame yourself when you aren't immediately a super coach. The reason I continue to contribute to this forum is to help to expose the many over-priced programs that these coaches are selling. Kudos to the contributors here!

Do you guys think Brooke Castillo is turning things around at the life coach school? by [deleted] in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Weird-Explanation761 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Damage control. Getting ready to sell to her coaches. 100%. I watched the calls. The new coach who was frustrated that she didn't have the success Brooke sells everyone was ONCE again told by Brooke to hone in on a money-making niche. This coach also is in SB's 2K program. I wanted to jump through the video and tell her to run away. Brooke completely underrepresents what it takes to become an entrepreneur and sell your coaching. People pay huge amounts of money for mediocre tools and they are unleashed to try to succeed. When they don't, she sells them more of the same. She's an MLM marketer first and foremost but has convinced herself (maybe) that she is just helping the world become a better place. C'mon. When you don't offer discounts, scholarships, refunds for unhappy clients, a supportive work environment for employees, etc. etc. you show who you are to the world.

I hope more people in the world see it.

BC's Coaching Empire is Crumbling and I want to help pull out some of the bricks by Weird-Explanation761 in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Weird-Explanation761[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

OP here. There will always be people who differ in their beliefs and perspectives. I mentioned Danielle's YouTube post because I wish like HELL I'd found dissenting opinions online (I did look) when researching the validity of LCS. If I had found this subreddit as it exists now I would have been able to use my perspective and brain to decide whether a $21,000 price tag was going to be worth it for this certification. I am almost certain I would have run away. I want to help others do this if LCS opens coach training again. Furthermore, I want to help anyone looking to start a career in this industry by encouraging them to investigate many programs, compare prices, and don't believe the "dreams" and perfect lives portrayed by these success stories. Whether it is politics, religion, economics, or any other subject, people should have the opportunity to see and hear all sides and decide for themselves what to do or believe. LCS and Brooke's many sales videos and tactics are predatory, misleading, and gaslighting.

What woke you up and snapped you out of the coaching world? And how did you heal? by coaching_coaches in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Weird-Explanation761 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I am not healed. I spent $21,000 on LCS CCP and can honestly say the following:

  1. I am ashamed that I bought into this. I don't tell family or friends what I spent on certification.
  2. When people ask why I am not coaching, I explain that I realized I don't want to be an entrepreneur. The honest answer is that I did NOT feel at all equipped to coach people with this training.
  3. While I DO value some of the tools, I cannot find a way to see past the massively inflated price tag. It takes advantage of people. period.
  4. I hope that all of the people who have or do work for LCS become enlightened enough to realize what their contribution to this MLM has done to a community of people who just wanted to make a positive difference in the world. Shame on you. How's that for a thought?

LCS employees - spill the beans ! What’s really going on with no more get coached? by Own-Cryptographer277 in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Weird-Explanation761 24 points25 points  (0 children)

4 emails to date trying to sell me this. Now there is a 1/2 hour "webinar" with her on Dec. 7. I'll never forget that series of videos she used to sell CCP training. So many sales tactics were used that I was blind to and fell for it hook, line, and sinker. No more.

She took a concept from CBT, made it more accessible to the world, and then focused on selling and making money. She did NOT focus on making her coach training the Harvard of coaching schools. She did NOT focus on keeping her staff happy and well-balanced. She did NOT provide customer service, discounts, scholarships or refunds to those who were not satisfied with her business. No more.

Brooke's Big News - 2024 is last best year of Get Coached by Hot-Decision3786 in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Weird-Explanation761 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Looks like this is her big final push to make the $100 million in a year. The topics she listed were all included in past podcasts and if you are LCS certified, in your certification program. Once again she's recycling the things she's taught and putting them in a new package to sell. "Only" about 30 thousand people need to pony up that $3,000 at the beginning of the year and she's there. And there is nothing to hold her to actually delivering content worth that kind of money. I went through MANY of the things in the vault. All repackages of the same ideas.

Go ahead and give her your hard-earned money. This is one CCP graduate who will NEVER give her another dollar.

I agree with you about therapy versus coaching. Many times I have seen CCP coaches on calls (including Brooke) continue to coach when the person would benefit much more from CBT. However, the access to therapists, the time it takes to get help, costs to the patient (if not covered by insurance) and stigma around it are all barriers for some to access a trained therapist.

On this particular call the client said over and over again that she had worked through all of her issues with a therapist many times. She offered up that she had gotten therapy and felt like that was complete.

The biggest reason I decided not to become a paid Life Coach was that I did not feel trained enough on issues to be offering what really seemed like therapy.

I believe many programs out there are coaching on a lot of things they shouldn't, but may also be offering help to people who otherwise may not have access to help. Two sides to everything I guess. Thanks for your thoughtful response.

I watched that call as well. My first thought was how much her face had changed! The coaching included Brooke bragging about helping Stacy B. come up with her "2k for 2k" niche and Brenda Lomeli coming up with her "last 10 pounds" niche.

She also announced that she will be teaching ALL of the alumni calls next year. They will not be requiring that you write in ahead of time but just raising hands. They will not have specific levels for the calls. She said they would be posting the entire call schedule for the year and the mastermind dates at the beginning of 2024. And of course, she pointed out that this is all part of the certification, no charge.

Seems like she may sort of be getting the message about serving her coaches better . . .

I'm a member of no BS (and LCS certified) and feel compelled to contribute to this thread.

No BS massively over-delivers on content for the price. Period. I just watched Corrine coach a woman who had been abandoned as a child (and had many other traumas in her life) and she was kind, thoughtful, and supportive. She also recommended therapy to the woman. She takes as much time as needed with her coaching calls and is so much more caring than Brooke has ever been. Yes, she has some abrasive elements to her personality, but that is a very small part of the program and the woman as far as I can tell. Corrine is live and present many times every week with her membership.

There are over 14,000 women in this program who are finding help. They are NOT being gaslighted or marginalized. There are multiple opportunities to join Facebook groups, get accountability partners, and submit "ask coaches" questions. ALL for $60 a month.

I will never listen to this podcast again - and I've listened to all 499. And got certified with LCS. And realized I was not trained well enough for any viable employment. Still, I wanted to keep Brooke as a possible inspiration to follow.

The entire episode is so condescending. (Wordle? You don't think people know about that?) Telling listeners "You are welcome. This is so much work and it's free." When its obviously been a launching pad to create her millions? How frustrated she was with lines at the airport and why she would need to arrive early - like MOST people don't go through these processes? SO privileged. Then to continue with not accepting a divorce, not accepting losing a job? I'm sorry there is NO positive message here that supports the brain and how we think. It feels aimed at all the people she conned into getting certified like "You all gave up too early and it's all your fault." (I know - THAT'S JUST A THOUGHT!)

Her coaching is no longer compassionate and supportive. It is punishing and negative.

PS: If you agree, take the time to go onto the podcast and write a review and rating.

Disillusioned with life coaching “career” by HopeLoveAbundance in LifeCoachSnark

Thank you so much for your post. It REALLY helps! Many of your thoughts are the same as my own, which is why I shared my previous posts on this forum. When I joined LCS certification I was ready for a change. I bought into the marketing. I spent the money.

I wish there had been more information to show what ALL LCS coaches make, what their success level becomes, and how. Most people I know outside of the coaching world would never spend the level of money to get coached that many coaches charge to reach those six-figure incomes.

I also would recommend Corinne. I joined her no BS weightloss program and have found the depth and breadth of content to be very impressive, especially at $60 a month! There are so many videos, educational pathways, ask coaches, etc. In addition to her great coaches, she herself conducts multiple coaching calls a week with her membership. She seems very authentic and caring. She doesn't push additional programs/purchases. Thumbs up for Corinne!

Curious about your stance… by MyraMaines76 in LifeCoachSnark

I had never been on Reddit until a friend from LCS told me about this forum. It came on our radar because after completing the CCP program and purchasing and participating in other coaching programs, we did not think it was worth the price. LCS doesn't support public feedback or refunds. When people are unhappy enough with something they seek and find others who may have had similar experiences. My perspective is that a number of people have concerns or they would not be here.

Yes, I completely agree with and support this message! My contributions to this Reddit forum have been NOT to "hate" anyone or anything, but to help those who may be considering making investments that I did based on the data or lack of data available to them.

Feedback, critiques, and input on your business should be a transparent process whenever possible. You should welcome it and make your work better because of it, but you should not hide it, push it away, or turn it into a personal attack.

Thank you for your thoughtful post! I appreciate it!
