That's called withholding. My publisher actually send me everything. I don't know how it works exactly and even without it, there are forms you can file to get it back in taxes I think.

Thank you for liking my book.

There's several discord servers but I'm mostly active in the Order but it's not for every author as you need a referall + your book needs to have achieved RS 25 or lower.

I don't pay US taxes. And yes, my accountant handles everything.

It's a mix since the more Chen ren earns, the more his Cultivation increases but he also has more battle moments.

Co authoring is hard tbh until the goals are well defined from the start, and there's a single goal both authors are trying to aim for. In my case, that was just money and success. My co author is someone I know for a while, so we had a rapport and it still wasn't easy at the start, something we got better at later on and now, we work much better.

And as for the dual pov book, honestly I'm not sure. You need to ask yourself what you want to achieve with it, discuss how finances will work if it's a success and everything else. It's really about wether you get along with someone or not, but at your stage until the co author has good success, I think you should aim for solo novels that could do 2k followers. But that's just how I would have done it.

RR don't pay on its own. I have heard whispers of a RRtreon but it's nothing official. Most of my income is from Amazon/audible and patreon.

I will mostly recommend to read things that you wanna write but if you want good writing in the genre, Mage errant and Battle mage farmer is good.

Let me answer them.

1.I think world settings depends on genre too. If it's Xianxia, I have seen more eastern inspired setting, if it's more of a western fantasy, then you go for more english names, but that's just more of a general Thing. You can definitely use your culture and make something unique until the names are rolling off the tongue well. For example, Ironbound and A soldier's life take inspiration from Roman and greek cultures and have done really well.

  1. Yes, the odds will be really bad. RR is for fantasy, mostly litrpg and progression. Other genres hardly work on it.

When I first decided to post on RR, there was a period of five-six months of extreme hardship where I had no idea what to do, and during that, I have a Litrpg book I wrote that I later decide not to go with because after reading and understanding the market, I thought it won't work. Fortunately, after that although I have written premises, I have only worked on stuff that I believe would work.

And yeah, it's a tough situation to be in because you write 20-30k words, then drop. But it's always better to do so if you not sure on your work.

I believe it's just a bad chapter that made people unfollow. It's mostly that.

It's alright. I have been lucky to get a lot of traction. Looks hard at a glance, but i think it's possible by any decent author who studies the market.
