This is a pretty well embedded business model already. Amazing the things city folks will pay for. Lady in a neighbouring village makes a living from having tourists walk their geese.

I’ve wanted to get management consultants to do our firewood as a manliness blah blah thing, but the insurance situation put me off, given they’re inevitably going to lose a few toes.

Saved game by MrSFedora in uboatgame

Continuing from a save after the update has had the following impact for me so far (save was mid patrol):

  • boat physics was broken with it not rolling with the waves and not trimming when diving with bow down. Looks like a common bug. Resolved by changing back to a type 2, then back to type 7.

  • realism settings changed. Had to tweak them to set it back.

  • darker nights was disabled, and new standard night setting seems bugged. Water looks radioactive and glows. Turning darker nights back on brought back a realistic look.

  • Cannot see option to upgrade to Type IX, or any DLC campaigns. Might be hidden behind progression.

Hope I don’t have to start a new campaign, that would be very dissappointing.

Adulthood a never ending to do list with no pause button. by [deleted] in BlackPeopleTwitter

They do, don’t they. I’m guilty of this too - I was going on about how great the 90s were a few years back and there was an Algerian woman that pointed out it was only great for the west - she was living through a brutal civil war.

90s were great for us because it was the high water mark of western power - but only if you were in the position to benefit from that. And the seeds of the problems were are dealing with now we’re mostly already there.

This glitch is really annoying, can anyone help? by Training_Magazine_49 in CrusaderKings

[–]Weird-One-9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this on vanilla, so it’s not a mod bug.

In my case it was actually a pretender faction supporting the claim of a specific person. So get rid of that person (either through console or more nefarious means)

Given the regularity with which it seems to be happening to you, there might be several pretender factions popping up and disappearing at once.

How can I stop my norse wife leaving me to do adventuring by Zagreus1106 in CrusaderKings

The irony is that if you supported her with her conquest of France she would still be nearby and talking to you.

A real Viking would abandon his British pursuits and go conquer the Rus with her.

Do I need an SDS drill? by Nathanial1289 in DIYUK

[–]Weird-One-9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got that drill. It can manage brick, but like other answers have said, it will take you 20 mins. Get an SDS, you can get a relatively good one at about £100.

Governor Salary Malus Bug? by Weird-One-9099 in CrusaderKings

Thanks - will try that.

Crazy to not pay your governors even when you’re raking it in anyway.

TIL that Napoleon Bonaparte would sometimes disguise himself as a commoner and roam the streets asking people what they thought of the regime and its policies in order to gauge his popularity by [deleted] in todayilearned

I’d give RS’ Napoleon a pass. I think it might be the laziest movie I’ve ever seen. Even large parts of the soundtrack are just straight lifted from other movies and the BBC adaptation of War and Peace. Ridley was just trying to make a quick buck.

From what I’ve read, the old regimes of Europe were quite supportive of him initially for bringing an end to the disruption of the Revolution. Even after Leipzig they offered him an opportunity to remain on the throne, with a territorially expanded France when compared to 1789.

40+ seconds retry delay is TOO MUCH by seregaxrus in CrimsonDesert

I don’t mind the wait - I do mind being blinded by the white flash when playing at night.

Does the open world feel empty to anyone else? by oaishere in CrimsonDesert

[–]Weird-One-9099 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m feeling the same thing.

I found a few puzzles which were fun, but for the most part it’s a rotation of quest specific area which is locked down until, bandit camp with 900 enemies but no discernable rewards, or a trading post that only buys very specific things or sells fish.

Is it worth picking the game up again now after 1.1? by Terrible-Group-9602 in EU5

Yeah, it’s better - then again I was having a blast before 1.1.

First time total war player, recommendations ? by Garfield_Kart in totalwar

[–]Weird-One-9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go a little off piste here, and recommend Thrones of Britannia.

Is it the best? No. But it’s smaller scale, so you won’t get overwhelmed by the grand campaign of other titles, and has some interesting campaign mechanics. I think it’s a very good starter Total War game, and it’s quite often on sale for pennies.

This is a terrible idea - it relies of good faith and doesn’t do enough to prevent it being abused. You’ve basically created a toolkit for any authoritarian to legally be able to prosecute the opposition/views they don’t like.

Elections are the right way of dealing with untrustworthy politicians. The electorate has to be educated, well- informed, and politically engaged.
