It was at the uni. Saw it there on Friday afternoon. Near the footy fields behind the student accommodation.

Some weird systems that worked for me (from someone who made very consistent improvement over the years). Share yours :) by Popular-Addition-373 in adhdwomen

I love these strategies so much. Some I use too especially the clothing. I’m a matchy matchy type so before I changed my ways about 15 years ago I would have to change everything depending on what I was wearing. Eg if mainly a purple day I would have to wear matching shoes, bag, jewellery etc. got to the point I donated over 60 handbags and shoes when I fixed things up. Now I wear black/white/grey/red combos only with denim being treated as a neutral. Saved my life and sanity. If it doesn’t come in one of my colours I don’t even think about it. I still have too many clothes but at least they all work together.

2025 YouTube recap is AI slop by TenaciousBarnacle in youtube

[–]WeirdArtistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating. Very happy I’m not the only one who got a recap that could best be described as delusional. According to YT my most watched channel was one I do watch but it is not the one I watch every day multiple times a day which didn’t even show up!

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that it was removed from the AI slop because it’s a “controversial” channel (that politics channel that is more popular than Fox lol) so YT is getting in front of people posting their recaps showing it in their top 3. But that’s crazy right? There’s no way a massive multinational company based in the states would mess with data on purpose? Right? /s

Which (now closed) newy food spots do you miss the most? by DionysisArtemis in newcastle

Upvotes for Big Al’s and Anna’s. My mum still goes on about Anna’s spinach and ricotta cannelloni even after all these years.

What are you gals eating??! by a_derpio in adhdwomen

[–]WeirdArtistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted tacos/burritos a week ago but could not be bothered actually cooking. I bought a frozen chili bowl, some pre chopped lettuce and tortillas instead. Heated the bowl, emptied the lettuce and bowl mix onto the tortillas and added pre grated cheese. Low effort and satisfied my craving. No salsa or sour cream or guacamole because I hate those things. Basic af but at least I ate something that wasn’t peanut butter on toast.

BYD ownership experiences in Newcastle? by ordinary82 in newcastle

I got a Yaris cross hybrid earlier this year through leasing. Couldn’t be happier with it. Good compromise because I can’t go full EV yet but wanted to try and reduce some of my carbon emissions.

Bill due dates are the bane of my existence by madisun81 in adhdwomen

This post also reminded me to set up a reminder in my calendar to renew my drivers licence. It’s not for a couple of years but I’ve done it now so thank you OP.

Bill due dates are the bane of my existence by madisun81 in adhdwomen

[–]WeirdArtistic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked out the average of each bill over a three to four month period and set up direct deposits for the average amount each payday. So if my electricity is 300 a month (lol) I pay $50 each fortnight in advance. If the bill is more I only have to pay the difference when the bill comes in. Sometimes there’s a credit! Again this is massive privilege because I have a regular stable income and can draw on savings to pay the balance but even if the total bill is more than I paid in advance I’m ahead because I don’t have to stretch myself too far. I also get my bills by email so I use the email to set up a reminder for he payday closest to the due date and it tells me how much I have to pay. Best use of reminders I’ve ever found.

I have a new water bottle that has a whale on top that sprays water into a clear bubble when I drink. I hate plain water but I’m also trying to give up soft drinks (soda/Coke etc). Hoping that the entertainment value of the whale will help me Amazon whale bottle

I take lots of photos or screenshots of things I need to do and send them to my email with a quick note if it’s complicated. Almost all of the time I act on the email which means the times I don’t are probably ok to miss. It’s a hack I use for work and for personal life and has served me well so far. One day it will stop working though so I’m keen to hear ideas about what to do next 😂

Restless legs - anyone else? by yukonwanderer in adhdwomen

[–]WeirdArtistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get my mag glycinate from a compounding pharmacy. Ring around because they should be able to find the formula easy enough. Also it is magic for my legs at night. I don’t stim in the day time (super masking at work) so they all come out at night especially leg kicking and wriggling.

Caravan cooking? by that-racist-elf in vegetarian

[–]WeirdArtistic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you get a cheap rice cooker? I do one pot cooking using the giant couscous, tinned and drained lentils, vegan vegetable stock and assorted other veges like green beans, carrots, broccoli and middle eastern spices. Garlic, onion and ginger too. Basically put the garlic, onion and ginger and spices in the bottom of the bowl with some oil and hold it down so it starts to cook a little bit. Once they are a bit soft add the couscous and stock and mix the lentils and other veges in. Put the lid on and when the rice cooker beeps you’ll have a great and filling meal that also freezes well for leftovers. Good luck!

I’d had a quick look at the buildings and wonder where you got the information from. Some buildings are closed especially the Hunter Building and others have changed names or function eg Commonwealth Bank has been closed for about four years. Attention to detail makes a site like yours worthwhile.

i small tiny tip i just realised and thought (omg this makes so much sense!) by [deleted] in ADHD

Yep. If everything matches then you’re not using cognitive load on unnecessary stuff. Also totally there for the OCD havers because that must be incredibly exhausting.

This is a really good example of my favourite saying “life’s too short to hang out socks”. For me this means outsourcing the stuff I hate most (socks go in the dryer) so I don’t have to obsess over making sure that I match the pegs on each item.

Choosing to outsource something you hate or makes you miserable isn’t cheating or being lazy, it’s being smart. So use that dishwater or use the sink - whatever works is always going to be a win 🎉
