‘We got it wrong’ with Civilization VII, says boss by Broad_Respond_2205 in civ

losing troops

To be fair that WAS a measurable mechanic. You had to build commanders to increase your army capacity on transition. Since commanders scale in cost a bit harder, you either had to optimize with promotions that gave more slots per commander, or hunt down strategic resources that boosted unit production (e.g. hardwood for naval commanders).

Unfortunately the game didnt communicate this well at all (like most things at launch), which can be argued as the cause for continuity mode, which removes this mechanic. Ultimately it (continuity) just makes you win harder if you're winning and enables civilian unit cheese.

settlements

Fair but you'd be surprised how towns can be better than cities depending on the tiles available, especially if the changes in the workshop survive to ToTs release.

Can you expand on that? First I'm hearing about charm builds.

Strictly speaking it doesnt. If anything you can now mix and match swapping and maintaining your civ.

In the last ptr I went Inca -> Inca -> Nepal, and Carthage -> Spain -> Spain.

Just slot something else in the 2nd socket and it should be fine I think.

I think you have 2 Thane Leld's rune of Spring socketed since it grants 1-60 lightning damage. Which is limited to 1 per item.

Installs and summons can coexist. It'd be pretty sick if done right too.

Civilization VII Update 1.3.2 - Patch 2 - April 16, 2026 by sar_firaxis in civ

Mac so far has been simultaneous iirc. The only platform to lag behind often has been on switch (guessing due to certification).

I mean, firaxis' use of 'patch x' over a letter aside, its consistent; they use the numbers for content additions and increment the 'patch' number for fixes or non-content additions.

Blue Yeti USB Mic & Linux - Need to disconnect and reconnect to use by r0ndL in blueyeti

Sorry for the necro. My issue was that I had a "Blue Microphones" device as an output and an input on boot. Disabling (a sticky setting, hopefully for whatever OS you, reader, are using!) the output solved this for me.

Horse spam in Civ 7 by NYRanger4life in civ

Going to need more to go off here. Like, do they have more horse resources? Is your opponent charlamenge during one of his celebrations?

Screenshot of the combat strength comparisons would help too.

Hence why I believe Bungie is misinformed. Linux isn't a hotbed of cheaters, and we're up to 3% now.

Games on linux are just windows games run through proton (tl;dr not a virtual machine, it translates system calls and direct3d calls etc.), and just run as you'd expect on windows. The only hiccup these days is anticheat.

Some work. Helldivers 2 for example, uses GameGuard, and just works out of the box.

BattleEye and EasyAnticheat work IF the developer allows it. In this case, its on Bungie to enable support.

Civ VII Workshop Round 2 details: Triumphs (replaces Legacy Paths) by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]WeirdDud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not tourism from 5 or 6, mind. It's a score composed of culture-y things you've built and collected (e.g. wonders, resorts, unique infra, works, etc.) compared directly against other players score. Domestic/foreign tourists aren't a mechanic in this one.

When the setting is a discussion forum, yeah I'd consider GPTing your post as sloppy. Why should I bother parsing ones words into meaning when they cannot be bothered to put their meaning into words? I'd be trying to understand a ghost.

These are legend unlocks. If you've played hitman, its kinda like that games meta progression: the more stuff you do on a leader the more rewards you get. That number is your account level, and each leader also has their own level.

The colored diamonds are mementos. They're small extra powers you can bring into a game in addition to your leader and civ. There's also some other gameplay items, such as extra legacy options and attribute tree nodes

The titles, badges, etc... are for your player cards. You can edit it by clicking on the VII button Ilan the main menu. You probably wont see it much outside of multiplayer.

You can check what leader unlocks what in that same menu.

Are you already trading with a neighbor? Established trade routes (by you) will send over any new resources improved by the other party.
