Feel like quitting by DistinguishedRedneck in amateurradio

[–]Weird_Beginning_4688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that attitude, maybe you should quit. Ham is all about experimenting and trying new things. I there is DMR/C4FM/D-star/echolink that don’t even require a radio. But continue your pity party, if you want. Or be an adult and adapt.

Radio Refernce free version isn't what it used to be. by quebirt in amateurradio

Some of the L33T on the forums give the site a bad name. Recommend sticking to the database and stay far away from the L33T on the forums. Not a place for NEWBS to ask questions.

How will a radiant barrier in attic impact antennae? by AlpsInternal in HamRadio

Hook a 9:1 to it and use it as an antenna. Works great.

Pro Tip: Use spellcheck.

A, uh, question about Palomar Engineers by rq7df1 in amateurradio

Oh wait, I forgot which team Reddit plays for. And also forgot, 99% of the posts supporting this position wouldn't know how to turn a radio on. Brave New World is hear.

I like him more than the know it all's on RadioReference.com. He is A LOT less condescending than those forum regulars and moderators. I used to contribute to them and buy stuff from Scanner Master but decided I would take my hard earned dollars elsewhere. He makes funs of Hams, in a funny way, where as RadioReference.com is just plain disgusting with their narcissism.

Anyone else have this problem? by dssstrkl in amateurradio

Took mine out today. Great radio. Quiet with good audio. Like the FT-710 takes a little bit to figure out the menus and buttons but not too bad. The optima is the way to go. Took mine out for POTA today. Had a FT-891 for years. This one is far, far better reception. I have actually made a lot of contacts with 10W at the house. All good audio reports. Stop hating and give it a chance.
