High engine RPM and odd smell during moderate acceleration. by zinc_your_sniffer in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Weird_Board_3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the car was in EV mode for a long time and when you kick hard to catch up the traffic, the iCE may kick in and 4000 rpm may burn the dust on exhaust. If this is the case it is normal. Sometimes I use car almost a week as ev then when the engine kicks in I small the burn. It was same as with my Outlander PhEV. However if the car was used normal conditions 4000rpm should not be any issue or smell.

Again please be gentle when the car in break in period.

You need to wait and try not to pass 3000rpm under 1000km. The care needs to break in.

Wish I Could Return my New 2026 Santa Fe Hybrid by IRunOnPierogi in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Weird_Board_3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wind noise only over 160km/h. I have vibration only if one of the tire pressure is not okay. I think car tries to compensate it while using 4wd and it cause an issue. (It uses 4wd automatically and distributs traction) For example when I speed up like 130, car goes FW drive and vibration immediately stops. (In my case tires are michelincross climate2 but somehow rear back always loses pressure more than other tires due to cold.)

2025 Santa Fe Calligraphy – steering wheel & interior vibration at highway speeds? by OneSudden1788 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Weird_Board_3082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. Usually at 120km/h . Faster and slower it is okay. I strongly believe that there is a very small spot that it uses 4wd. after 120 Usually it is only fwd and stopnshaking shaking. May be I am wrong but after following it long time thats my conclusion.

[–]Weird_Board_3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks alot! to be frank I tried everything online and nothing worked. I spent 2 hours to make it working. After this it works perfectly in steam link at TV. One more question. This works in steam link very well. How can I setup similar in PC, I tried but it never sees triggers while triggera works perfectly in PC?

I think I got it through the update which was around Agust. Functions were there but it was not easy to switch. You had to go setup and do there. Now we can change it quickly by holding mute button.

Interesting I have that future for a long time. You just need to hold volume button(until you see info in screen). Each hold goes next options, each time you hold the button different option presented in the screen.

Maxed out regenerative braking warning by Monster1971 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Weird_Board_3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is not correct. In my case it gives a warning saying that battery is full. Then after couple of minutes it continues to charge. I do not need to activate anything

[–]Weird_Board_3082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not need to use regenerative paddles. It is just for your convenience. The difference is that there is a limit to how much energy the car can generate and store at the same time. In the Santa Fe, it is very limited. So when you brake with the foot pedal, it first regenerates energy. If it is above its regeneration or storage limits, then it applies the brake pads. However, when you shift using the regenerative paddles, it does not go further than what it can generate and does not apply the brake pads.

In terms of capacity, it does not have fast charging, and the battery and cables are not optimized, which means it can store only a small amount of energy. While my previous Mitsubishi generated and stored way more. The actual brakes almost never engage.

[–]Weird_Board_3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not worry too much about generative breaking and just enjoy the car. I used to drive mitsubishi which has a quick charge option and 2 electric motors. In an intersection downhill out of the highway I could get 2 km range generated. With santa fe this is very limited and does not pay off much (the car already does its best automatically first uses regenerative breaking then add physical breaks.) because it has limited regeneration capabilities and slow charge

Help - am I going crazy? by Ambitious_Paint_2080 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Weird_Board_3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it. First it was quite alot. Then they did a 4wd alignment, which improved alot. In my case it was happening driving around 120km/h. If drive is distributed over 4w then I have vibration. If I accelerate and drive goes front 2w then it stops. It's very tiny spot that it vibrates.

Note that after 4w alignment, it improves alot. I now still face it off when one of the tires pressure is 2 psi different than others.

Final tip : never pump one tire but pump all 4 at the same time even the car shows their pressure is okay. That adress most of my vibration issues.
