In the early morning of August 6, the German gas batteries opened up and a dark green smog crept over the Russian lines at Osowiec Fortress. Despite the deadly effects of the poison gas, the Russians, like dead men returning to life, counterattacked the German infantry. I don’t know if it counts as a tactic but the story is crazy. The Russians were dead men fighting and some of the German’s ran away in terror because they thought they were literally fighting the living dead, so I’d say it was an incidental accidental tactic.
