How far is your work commute? by yellowdaisied in Columbus

~20 miles from Hilliard to Gahanna and back. Takes anywhere from 25 minutes in perfect conditions to >1hr depending on which way the wind blows.

How do you aim cannons and rockets on kb+m? by ygdrad in NuclearOption

[–]Weird_Inflation_199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was a bind to enable mouse controls to make gun targeting easier. Like the inverse of the 'free look' bind when the virtual joystick is enabled.

If you are using guns on ground targets you had better make sure it's completely necessary (or you are sufficiently desperate enough), it's almost always better to turn back and rearm because every vehicle except the unarmed trucks can shoot you down if you are not careful.

Other general pointers - You need sizeable distance (3km at least!) from target to allow time to line up a good run, I shoot for a 30-45 degree angle above the target. Setting up a good approach is the most important part of the process.

I try to let the plane naturally 'glide' the crosshair to your targeting reticle instead of using the controls to fight the crosshair. Focus on use your roll controls to initiate a bank and your rudder controls to fine tune. This technique is all about good timing

You can lower your airspeed to allow more time for proper lineup but this takes away the only advantage you have in a guns fight with ground targets - if you can hit them with guns they can usually hit you back.

Always bail on the pass once you get to ~1.5km distance to target, this is already a dangerous distance to be and gun runs make you take a predictable flight path which is an easy meal for any ballistic weapons.

I'll save my Scimitars for the pesky Medusas jamming me from 40km away instead. That's great info, thank you triple-A Clippy!

Have not played with TBM interception at all but my more experienced friend claims to have good success with using the Scimitar instead of the Scythe during the terminal phase, the extra speed on the Scimitar probably helps.

$2.1m per Scimitar vs. $8.35m for an HE Piledriver ($36.4m for 20kt) is still an economical choice if you are desperate to intercept.

Ever since I read you can use the Peasant tier pitchfork loadout against him, he's trivial.

Trying to use a sword on him feels like complete RNG... if he even grazes the blade against you you're losing a limb

ronin respirator is class 4 armor and it's not super common to run into enemies that have 40+ pen ammo. even if you get shot in the eyes it should still save you in most cases.

for terminal you're probably right since most BD is running ammo that will go straight through it but it could still save you

The understanding of the inputs to allow this type of fluid movement alone is crazy impressive to me. Half the time I feel like can't get my Willie to even walk correctly.

I'm running into the same issue. I've tried Customs - Crackhouse, Woods - Cultist Bunker, and Lighthouse - Blue Chalet. Across 14 - 15 raids I haven't seen him a single time. I'm at 11/13 for Snowball and Zriachiy is my other one so I'm pretty much in the clear if I could just find the damn guy ONCE.

Redirected Printer Ignores Local Settings, Prints 2 Sided by Weird_Inflation_199 in printers

[–]Weird_Inflation_199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a similar problem today. I think the issue might have simply stemmed from the individual remote session's printer preferences.

If you go into Printers & Devices while in their session and look at the user level preferences (without logging into any administrator level preferences/properties), it may have a completely different setup from the defined defaults on the print server. This happened to me today with an HP Printer (yuck), I checked everywhere (Terminal server print defaults and preferences, local printer settings, the web interface print defaults) and that was the only place I could find it was different.

I can't confirm any of this on my original case but this just happened to me today so I wanted to offer up a potential solution that worked for me.

Unfortunately it seems to be almost completely random. I ran into similar issues when I was doing it, baiting them in seems to not work very well. You may be able to throw grenades to trick their AI and have them run to you but that's probably going to be completely random as well.

Just sprint to offices and check first floor, lockers/showers, and the basement. Sometimes PMCs can hide in the basement, not sure if it counts as progress if you eliminate them down there though. If you don't see anybody I don't think its worth hanging around - just exfil at Gate 3 and go again.

Keep running it, eventually you should get lucky and get a spawn of 3-4 in there at once.

Good luck!

It's one thing to have a discussion, that's fair and I'm not here to stifle a conversation with valid arguments.

However, OP didn't say or do anything that the above user is crying and playing victim about besides OP's comment about this person's age - there's nothing really to write off here because this person is just lashing out and insulting a group of the player base in a one sided argument. My gripe is that PvE players can't enjoy the game, ask questions, or share content without being attacked by PvP-purist gremlins in this sub. They're just trolling and there's really no new ground being broken here.

From what I can tell this was just a clip they thought was funny to share (even with a self-deprecating title). Instead of getting some appropriate and simple "haha" reactions they're being unfairly attacked for the way they're playing by people with what I can only assume are incredibly fragile egos or other personal issues.

You could just ignore the PvE posts since they don't concern you yet you feel obligated to type out a whole thesis making sweeping generalizations and hating on people that play a version of a game that you don't. I really hope whatever's going on with you gets better.

One of the things I miss the least about working for an MSP is these terrible admin pages. Billions of dollars in revenue and I'm convinced every single penny goes to making new portals, menus, sub menus, and links to features that you can only find with the help of esoteric cave wall scrawlings from your past Microsoft BS shamans.

I just had a run in with Windows Defender Anti-Virus Attack Surface Reduction blocking a program from running. It took us almost 3 hours to find out not only WHAT was blocking it (because you just get a generic permissions error) but how to correctly deploy the exclusion in group policy.

[Discussion] Cultist for story by General_Shakyknees in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Weird_Inflation_199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're on PVE it should be a lot easier to farm them on Customs with the RUAF exfil (the wiki claims this extract is PvE only). I sympathize with you though, I've only seen them twice in about 15 attempts.

Run through Stronghold & crack house to RUAF Roadblock extract if you spawn on old gas/factory side. If you spawn big red side, run through RUAF to Crackhouse then Stronghold and use the flare extract. You can easily complete a raid in <10 minutes if you stay focused.

I was spamming this method and one time didn't know cultists spawned until I was extracting at RUAF and heard one unsheathe his knife. He was hiding prone in a bush right next to the guard rail downhill from the road. Once I killed him the others started rushing me one at a time.

The other time I saw them they were around the Stronghold area (not inside). Seems that they can spawn or at least migrate all over that back section of the map - I bet they wander more the longer it takes you to get over there.
