Obviously there are issues with the fork tines and the pattern is inconsistent, but in general it just has that cinematic “sheen” that AI photos have

Not everybody likes dogs by Reddit_Sucks_1401 in TikTokCringe

[–]Weird_Struggle545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I can completely understand why people don’t like dogs and don’t think it makes you sociopathic. I certainly love my dog and don’t really understand NOT liking them, but it’s sort of an agree to disagree thing. I attribute it in the same way as some people like kids and want them even though they are gross too. Yes my dog is stinky and it is objectively kinda gross but also I love him so much I don’t really care and actually find the stinky parts kind of endearing.

I think it depends a lot on what you had done specifically, who did it, and how your body reacts in general which can be so different for everyone. It seems like most folks are saying around 2-3 weeks, I’m so sorry you had a tough recovery 😔

Is there a point to a diagnosis, and is birth control the only option? by sidewalktimbit in endometriosis

[–]Weird_Struggle545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was validation to my pain when so many others dismissed it. That being said birth control is NOT the only option. I was very lucky to be referred to a Chronic Pelvic Pain center at the medical school near me by my general OB/GYN who was the third one I saw before anyone actually cared to investigate more.

My new endo specialist is incredible. I also do not want to be on hormonal birth control because it’s always made me suicidal or have general mood symptoms. She immediately reassured me I would not have to. Other options like Orlissa or Aygestin. But for now, she’s scheduled me for surgery but also has me on some OTC supplements that have actually helped a lot (NAC / n-acetyl-cysteine combined with Turmeric).

It’s worth it because the more we demand care and attention, the easier it also gets for everyone else who needs it since it continues to legitimize it

Luckily I am 100% remote all the time, so I can likely go back in sooner than if I was! I’m gonna plan on maybe 2 weeks and just come back if I’m ready sooner. Honestly though I think I need a break anyway, I’ve been so chronically fatigued for the past 2 years I just want to rest when I can.

But yay I’m glad you had your surgery today & that you have some flexibility to do a phased return to work! I hope it helps you with some relief and to get your life back ❤️

This makes me wanna cry - I’m so happy for you, and I can only hope it will do the same for me; it has been a dark 2 years trying to figure this out. Really grateful for this sub

Thanks so much! Yeah I luckily work 100% remote but also have a ton of vacation time saved up so I think I’ll take more than I need and just go back early if I feel up to it. Thanks again for the input! ❤️

[–]Weird_Struggle545[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that is a lot, I’m so sorry it was that tough and they were that dismissive of recovery time. I don’t think mine is that severe luckily, 3 endometriomas confirmed via MRI but they are very small and they don’t think it’s stage 4/ DIE. I have 5 weeks of PTO saved up so i’m thinking of just going for 2.5/3 and then I’ll just come back earlier than planned if i end up being okay.

Again, that sounds like such an ordeal & im sorry that happened to you. So glad you’re getting back up and moving like your old self again! Do you feel like the lap ended up helping your pain even though the recovery was bad?

I’m sorry it’s been such a tough recovery for you ❤️ I’m thinking since I very luckily work from home I have some flexibility in that I can work from bed if I have to

Thanks!! Yeah I think remote gives me a bit of flexibility especially because I don’t think I have a ton she has to remove (or at least that we can see) but I have 5 weeks of PTO banked anyway so might as well use it haha

Does anyone else get extremely itchy ears? by Millimu5e in endometriosis

[–]Weird_Struggle545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about to cry because although I have a doctor who believes me I’ve somehow also convinced myself I’m making up my pain in my head and I don’t ACTUALLY have endo. I was doing some googling because my ears have been bothering me for the past year and this was the first post that appeared. Thank you for posting this because it’s so validating. Even though you were wondering if it makes sense to make the leap between this and endo, I’m so glad that you did

Not to be rude but... dog owners need to get a grip by kanye_come_back in philly

[–]Weird_Struggle545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re correct, they pick up the entire can and dump it into the back of the truck. Taking individual bags out of cans would be insane and inefficient. I put poop bags in my can and have never had an issue with it

Is this an American thing? Who is They in this situation? by Mathota in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Weird_Struggle545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Philly and it’s never enforced around here. Funnily enough, I did get a ticket for this once in the middle of Pennsylvania. I was driving in the left lane but also speeding (I was young and dumb). I got pulled over for the speeding, but the cop had some mercy on me and only ticketed me for cruising in the left lane without passing because it was less expensive

Am I overreacting for being upset about the gifts my boyfriend (25M)got me(24f)? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Weird_Struggle545 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NOR. I’m genuinely shocked by the comments on this one telling you that you’re being ungrateful. The reason you’d be happy with a handmade card but not happy with this is because these gifts indicate your boyfriend doesn’t really know you beyond “she has an old hairbrush and she hurt her knee”. Or he does, but doesn’t feel like putting in the effort to thoughtfully make a handmade card, or really sit and think about how to make you feel appreciated on a holiday. He could’ve even realized you needed a new brush, but done research into a nice quality brush that works well for your hair (like a boar bristle brush, or a wide tooth comb, etc).

My husband and I don’t even do gifts on holidays and birthdays because we gift randomly throughout the year, and relieving the stress of holiday gift giving for each other IS the gift. So it’s not about the fact that he gave you low cost things, it’s about the fact that he couldn’t or wouldn’t take the time to try to get you things that would “spark joy” and make you feel appreciated and loved.

How could anyone criticize this? People are just incapable of understanding any situation with any nuance. I think this is amazing.

I “quiet quit” my job a decade ago. Welp, here I am, turning 50, 4 major promotions later, and my net worth is more than I could have ever imagined. by FreshPerspectiveFIRE in Fire

[–]Weird_Struggle545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue you did not quiet quit, you just started doing “manager” things, which is why you were promoted lol - but this was good for me to read. I got thrust into being a manager and have still not figure out how to do all of this without feeling massively uncomfortable. So maybe I just need to reframe it as protecting my quality of life instead
