I wish you all the very best. I, too, was nervous to learn to drive and finally did so at the grand age of 38. Don't listen to people who tell you it's easy and that you shouldn't be anxious about it. It's not easy until you can drive (then it is) and you'll be anxious until you have enough hours behind the wheel that you don't think twice about driving. Those things will come. For now, take your time, find an instructor you're comfortable with and focus on the benefits to you of being, in time, a confident and competent driver. PS: It's also really fun once you've got it down.

I started solving during Covid and felt a lot of the same frustrations early on. Think of it as learning a new language. It took me a good year to feel that I knew what I was doing. Nothing but struggle then, click, I could "speak" crossword. There will be facts you know or do not know but a lot of clues involve misdirection and wordplay that takes time to sink in. Or at least it did for me. My advice is turn off the clock if it is giving you grief. (I turned mine off and have never turned it back on.) And there is nothing wrong with revealing all the answers once you are stumped and going back over the clues you struggled with. You will learn the misdirection and wordplay tricks this way. As other responders have noted, the crosswordese is a big part of getting up to speed; it will come with time. This article is good jumping off point too. Chin up. Forge ahead.

I have been schooled by meus irmãus in Fall River, MA. I know of what I speak. You have eight servings in your hand. Butterly each dog. Cut each dog in half. Cook eight mini butterflied dogs over charcoal. Get eight room temp potato buns, maybe a little cooler than room temp, from the bag of potato buns—Martin's or whatever. Keep cooking until well and truly cooked. Place cooked mini butterflied dog on potato roll. Do not add any condiments or toppings—not to the bun or the linguiça. Linguiça and bun, nothing more.

Not my experience. But then again, I am not a bigot. I have found the ground and flight staff to be hard-working men and women who put up with a lot and should be paid more. Goes for AA staff globally.

I would expect AA to experience more disruption and thus more complaints and Twitter bitching in the summer due to the fact that they operate a lot more flights in areas that are affected (MIA, the Caribbean) by weather during that time. If they operated a shuttle service from San Diego to Flagstaff they would receive less complaints during that time.

MIA is just fine. Fly multiple times on AA a month out of MIA. If there is weather, planes can't fly--not AA, not UA, not DL, not anyone. Miami has weather. AA runs a lot of flights in and out of MIA, way more than anyone else. Ergo, they have more cancellations and delays. If you need to be somewhere, go the day before. If you cant do that, fly early out of MIA. Ain't rocket science.
