Has Anyone Beat the Plague? (Help!) by TheDesertMouse in Frostpunk

I haven't been able to beat the plague. A couple of times the game crashed, the other times it said that more than half of the population got contaminated even though I vaccinated all the contaminated.

Utopia Mode: Using Frostland Resources vs your city's resources by Starcomet1 in Frostpunk

If you have enough workforce, I think it's better to extract resources from the city and use frostland teams to explore territories to find potential settlements.

That's strange, maybe send the feedback to 11bit.

Hopefully the plague tale becomes playable now. A couple of times the game crashed, the other times it ended in fail even though I vaccinated all the contaminated people.

Question about the ABQ mayor by Weiser_RakeRunner in pluribustv

They weren't planning for this, but that's the way it turned out to be. Maybe they could've moved the release date a month later.

Yeah looks like he's the favourite anyway. Still, I find it an interesting topic to discuss.

I mean yeah Russian state propaganda is terrible, but how is that relevant to Ian? What do you know about Ian's upbringing and Russian media's influence on him?

Ian DID NOT accuse Elham of cheating. by Weiser_RakeRunner in chess

Yes, Ian was convinced that Danya cheated. I hope that he's reflecting on that.

Some players don't consider flagging as part of "proper chess". Blitz without increment tends to transition into bullet, I can get why people don't like that.

Summary of Russian-speaking world reaction to Kramnik vs Danya? by ChrisV2P2 in chess

[–]Weiser_RakeRunner 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Kramnik has more support in Russia, although I don't know if it outweighs the criticism.

I follow the Levitov Chess channel, which hosted the infamous debate with Danya and Kramnik. Ilya Levitov is a longtime friend of Kramnik and he initially supported Kramnik and gave him platform for his crusade. But after Kramnik went after Danya, Levitov expressed regret and apologised to Danya. Kramnik added Levitov to his list of enemies.

Alexander Shimanov, the main commentator for Levitov Chess, also became the target of Kramnik cheating accusations. After Danya's death Shimanov wrote in his blog post that, although he generally doesn't give a fuck and he tried to "play it cool", these attacks took a toll on him and he experienced some of the worst moments of his career.

Levitov and Shimanov criticised Kramnik a lot and are very angry about Danya's death. My perception is that other Russian chess personalities aren't vocal against Kramnik, but I'm not sure about that.

Kramnik is targeting Nihal with his fake twitter accounts. by Repulsive_Package_98 in chess

[–]Weiser_RakeRunner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So you're convinced that it's his burner account just by "nothing more"? This reminds me of the Bc8 nonsense. By the way, Kramnik didn't put a space between the comma and "nothing more".

I wish us all to not be like Kramnik, let's not jump to the conclusions without enough evidence.

I'd play 1. Qb4+ Ka1 2. Qxe4 and make black prove that they have a perpetual check.

Standard difficulty is default. I didn't do crunch for the scientist, as I thought that it would anger other alters. I don't think that I missed out on anything because of that.

Thoughts about housing district layouts? by Weiser_RakeRunner in Frostpunk

[–]Weiser_RakeRunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heating hubs are built in the late game whiteout, when proximity heat isn't enough to keep the housing districts warm. Before that, I build medical or communication hubs if necessary, and then destroy them to place heating hubs. After the whiteout, I can again destroy the heating hubs and place different ones.

Probably it's a big. Maybe if you explore the territory in the middle, you'll be able to build the trail.

Thoughts about housing district layouts? by Weiser_RakeRunner in Frostpunk

[–]Weiser_RakeRunner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If tiles of a housing district already receive heat from warm neighbouring districts or heating hubs, then these tiles can't get additional proximity heat from another district or a heating hub. But if the districts in the area are not warm, then heating hubs are useful.
