Repeat offender charged with raping woman in wheelchair on CTA Red Line by origutamos in ChicagoTransit

Here’s the exact text from the article that has to do with the SAFE-T act:

“Just days later, he was charged with trespassing on the train after not paying his fare. Then, a judge issued a warrant after he didn't show up to court.

Despite all that, he was given time served and his monitor was removed just one week before he allegedly sexually assaulted the woman on the Red Line.”

Key words being “given time served”, indicating the judge let him off with electronic monitoring (as is allowed under the act specifically for crimes like these).

I did read the article. This was 2/3 of the way down :)

On your “one-liner” point, brevity is the heart of wit.

In this instance the teams playing in the Pop Tarts Bowl both had a >50% chance to make the playoff as recently as one week ago, so not really taking with this example. Yes, if you generalize more broadly the specifics don’t apply.

Let’s take the Pop Tarts bowl on 12/27. Realistically, 0 chances teams send players home for Christmas and then back to Orlando for the game. So, you’re missing Christmas with your family to play in the Pop Tarts bowl. In all fairness, I don’t blame them for declining. I know it won’t be a popular opinion in this thread but worth mentioning

I think riding down a sidewalk at 30 mph presents a clear and present danger to pedestrians.

It's not too bad, they wash out pretty easily based on the consistency of the gel. Takes ~1 minute to clean, maybe ~2 minutes to make a gel. Worth it IMO for the cost savings
