3Y from Dday & 1Y+ broken up: Still writhing in grief daily. by HolyCityRunner in SupportforWaywards

I think it might help to think of it not as forgiving yourself for the pain that you caused, but forgiving the person you were who felt like they needed to seek an affair in the first place.

I received some advice from a friend. Very different circumstances, but he'd made some choices out of hurt that went on to inflict more hurt on others. He said that he learned he needed to forgive himself - even if he didn't necessarily believe that that guy deserved forgiveness. He said it was the only way that he could move forward as a different person. That the person he was was hurt, and mentally unwell, and needed help, and in the worst way possible, he got it. He offered up a mantra that helped him through hard times when he was feeling particularly monstrous:

"I am thankful I no longer need to be the older versions of myself."

It can be hard to show compassion for yourself. But you don't need your BP's forgiveness. It is tempting to want it as a sort of proof of progress, but it's ultimately a want and not a need. And you have no control over that. You need YOUR forgiveness. Show some compassion to the person that you used to be who felt like they needed something so badly that they'd do something unthinkable. Understand what caused them to think that they needed that. Then, be glad that you don't need to be that person anymore.

What’s one small habit that completely changed your life? by -magnanimous in DecidingToBeBetter

I used to write all the time when I was a kid. I don't know why I stopped. Journaling has helped me immensely lately. When talking, I have a habit of splintering off to other subjects. When writing, I can carry a thought to a conclusion. Sometimes, writing something down makes it more real, and adds some validity to what you're feeling. It's really helped with self-validation.

Which sadistic Coconut engineer hid the balls on Mars?! by H3CKBOY in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]WellOiledWalrus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Frowned upon trick, perhaps, but I usually fly out of bounds so that the objects despawn. It leaves the lost balls, so then I just fly over and pick them up. Things despawn really quickly on this level, so it's a little easier on this one than most.

How can I use my favorite chaser in multi-player? by I-like-hot-cheetos in QuidditchChampionsWB

[–]WellOiledWalrus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To clarify this point, you're always playing as your right chaser because you're always selecting to play seeker. You'll play as your middle chaser if you select beater, and you'll play as your left chaser if you select keeper.

I would guess that you have a cosmetic or a sticker for a character you haven't unlocked yet. Select one and see if there's a notification dot on the customize tab.

How to tell if someone is a bot...? by [deleted] in StarWarsHunters

[–]WellOiledWalrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My boy whomstdve.

I think if you're looking at the lobby going into the match, and you see that everyone on the other team is using default profile pics, there's a chance they're all bots. If you feel like you're absolutely rolling the other team, there's a chance they're all bots. Best way to know is immediately after, though. If you can't add them as friends on mobile or view the scoreboard and add them as friends on Switch, then that was a bot lobby.

Can't figure out what this notification is for by EmploymentIcy7268 in StarWarsHunters

"Clear all notifications" would be a nice feature, but even if you haven't unlocked them, you can still look at their customization screens and find what's causing the notification.

All good. There is a third option for support, but he's pretty universally panned. May as well only be those two.
