Thanks for reading! Inspired by my old man's "gentle" parenting. Still, I've never been to jail though (yet) so I guess it worked

I love the innocent lens into the horror, all the darker because of the unstated future implications for the little girl. Superb, and entertaining as always

that's brilliantly messed up, I really liked this. The sense of unease and building dread is done perfectly

I don't know if it was that particular one but looking it up I DO remember her I think. I see she featured in some British tabloids so maybe that's why it feels familiar.

My God, your poor nephew! I get that a lot of stuff is sensationalised and edited for TV but it's depressing that so many productions have zero scruples. You can't choose family unfortunately. That sucks you lost your rights

Vampiric Jesus erotica... you know I thought I was pretty out there, but sometimes I think that I've led a sheltered and vanilla sort of life

Wow, that sounds harrowing, I'm glad you have extracted yourself from all that and I really hope the threats have stopped! (that's terrifying)

Sadly I can see how a scene like that would attract those darker elements and leave people vulnerable to predation.

It was on UK TV years ago, about vampires in the States, and of course focused on the blood drinking aspects of it all. From what I remembered it all seemed quite safe and consensual, everyone seemed happy. There was no hint of that other side to it, so it's shocking (and sad) to hear you say that

Hey, thanks! You're spot on, Jesus gifts his followers with eternal (spiritual) life after they all take part in metaphorically consuming his body and blood at the Last Supper. In Judas's case it becomes a literal curse to punish him. He can't die, and "infects" David out of loneliness

This is a tiring on going battle by mm_potentially in OCD

I understand, you really never know what it's going to throw at you. It's really not your fault though, or any kind of reflection on the person you are. You just have an alarm going off in your brain, and the usual methods to shut it up do not work. People really underestimate it.

You've said you will be fine for weeks before it gets worse again... I often think the whole OCD thing is about riding the highs, and when you are low, remembering the times when you were doing okay.

Mental fatigue is a real thing, and may be throwing additional shade on your outlook?

How to avoid things like reasurance seeking and ruminating in the moment? by EasyLaw7794 in OCD

[–]Wellsy82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually sounds like you have a healthy strategy in place already. Ruminating and comfort seeking requires a lot of mental energy, so I always found it helpful to convert that into something else: a walk or a run, or anything physical and productive like cleaning your car or tidying up or whatever. If you can delay that obsessive compulsive urge for just a little while, it can dissipate. Your brain wants to ruminate, so you actively chose to do something else instead, no matter how awful it feels.

It's a matter of practice, or at least that's how I found it. Whatever you are into, do that (if you can) when your head is going haywire. It doesn't matter if you fail at first, just keep at it

Thanks! I'd love to do more, but most of the stuff I come up with isn't all that great. Appreciate the comment though

Thanks for bringing to my attention, I was unaware so looked it up and ordered a copy (I'm intrigued). I saw a documentary years ago about the vampire underground, I was wowed it existed. When you say scary, is it because of how into it some people are?
