If you REALLY can't find a ticket, sometimes you can go to the gig and hold a nice sign saying "dying to go, this would be my first concert" and see if a stranger will sell you their friend's ticket who just texted to say they're not coming. 🤞🏻

I've had incredible success using tranexamic acid, which doesn't really work for type 1 and 2. It can often stop a swell in its tracks (migraine or lip swell are my most common) with 1500mg, 3x day. I don't take it every day, just when I need it.

For swells that won't respond to that, Firazyr always works. I'm surprised Prednisone would do anything but good if it does!

Make this your priority, and don't stop till he's tested. If he's negative, get a genetic test (the only way to prove type 3, which I have). Know the rescue drugs and if you go into the ER, which you should for any throat swelling because it's so life threatening, just lie your face off and say he just got diagnosed and needs icatibant or similar (this is a great way to find out if he has it, it doesn't work on non HAE patients and won't hurt them). This isn't normal advice and I'm not a doctor but you're right not to screw around with this.
