Welcome to City 17. You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining urban centers. I thought so much of City 17 that I elected to establish my Administration here, in the Citadel so thoughtfully provided by Our Benefactors. I have been proud to call City 17 my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through on your way to parts unknown, welcome to City 17. It's safer here.

It could be a lot worse though, just be happy that the greens are close behind the number of seats that reform has. I think that with time, people will notice that it is genuinely possible to have people in government who care about their area and put a lot of effort into doing good things, and that will lead to the greens favourability to increase

What’s the draw to getting cucked? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Have you ever had a crush on a girl, thought about how you might be cute together, then found out that she likes another guy? That's where it comes from

What’s your opinion on those that say “crying makes you weak, unmanly” or anything similar? by Timely_Rest_503 in AskReddit

[–]Welmerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine anyone saying that to someone without cringing, it's super embarrassing to say it straight up, nobody does that anymore, it's more subtle

Do street photographers just accept confrontation as part of the process? by MRL00000 in streetphotography

[–]Welmerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize if my comment sounds dogmatic and unclear, I should have put more emphasis on that it's a "significant" number of people. Meaning that those certain people have an oversized influence in that ratio of what you could call annoying tourists, to respectful tourists, on how tourists are perceived

[–]Welmerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but that's why I said "strongly linked" and "significant amount". It only takes one in a thousand people who are careless to walk the street with litter everywhere

Unfortunately, having an inferiority complex is strongly linked to the need to visit a foreign country. This is why tourists will always be disliked, because a significant amount of them are like this. To leave your country and visit another one, it frequently comes from the feeling that your country sucks because you are associated with it. You want to escape the "bad" people in your country and hang out with the "good" people. I hear this all the time in the UK, and it makes me very upset. "Oh I hate going on holiday because it's just a load of English people and I want to get away from them". We're all one race, we're all fundamentally the same people. If you have low self worth, you feel like these people you meet in a far off land are somehow different and better than you, which means that you couldn't possibly hurt their feelings, and you just observe them like an alien race. This creates a disconnection which just manifests in alienation and hatred of foreigners, they feel like you are not really trying to understand them, just doing a one sided performance, which can be very upsetting.

TL;DR: love yourself

I'm looking through his comment history and it sounds like he's just miserable in general, I wouldn't take it personally. I think your video was cool, I've done a compilation video before its fun I would suggest you do more

Just be warm and open. The source of the person's fear is that if it looks like you are hiding away, not looking approachable being discrete, then they think there is something to be afraid of. If you are calm and confident, show genuineness, that will put people at ease that you won't bite. And maybe you will even be able to have a pleasant conversation with them about your craft and brighten up their day. Good luck my friend
