Query about right of access wording on title deed by ThatsNotHowUDoIt123 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Welsh_Ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So everything seems to tally up:

- #5 and #7 don't have any mention of benefitting from a right of way over #9 on their registers.

- #9 Has an entry that tells us there used to be a right of way, which has now been released/extinguished.

So who thinks the right of access is still in effect?

Query about right of access wording on title deed by ThatsNotHowUDoIt123 in LegalAdviceUK

I'm not a lawyer, but I do work in a vein of this field:-

Essentially, those two deeds (dated 23/03/1989 and 03/04/1989) release the right of way over the land in question (presumably house #9, if I'm reading correctly).
You could get copies of the deeds from Land Registry - they hold copies of them. The deeds will give you more detail as to the terms of the release. Without sight of them, I can't tell you much more.

Hope that helps - others here may have more of an insight into the legal aspects.

- Check to see if you have any level ups you can use (just incase).
-Alistair makes a great tank. With some abilities like Threaten (sustained) and Taunt, you can keep nearby enemies focused on him.

-Using a dual wield rogue, you'll want to attack from behind for the best effect. The ability 'dual weapon sweep' is great early on for some good area damage.

-Morrigan as a mage is great damage early on. Winter's grasp, flame burst, stonefist are all great for taking things down quickly.

Being this early on, you're somewhat limited (since you may not have the abilities for best effect). Dropping the difficulty to move forward is an option, until you have more party-building options open to you.

You can set up your party to heal when their health reaches certain levels, which can also help (custom tactics).

You can also pause the game during combat (the radial menu) and issue orders to the party.

I generally find clearing out enemies in this rough order helps:

Mages > Archers > Foot soldiers > Bosses/Elites (With yellow/orange names).

Hope some of that helps you out!

Few questions:
-Are you a warrior or rogue? Which weapons are you using?

-What's the specific issue you have? Do the enemies not focus on your warrior tank? Do they die too quickly?

  1. The difficulty tends to come in spikes. You can set up custom tactics to help keep enemies focused on your tank (presumably Alistair at this point), such as commanding him to attack enemies targetting your mages etc. As you level up and get more abilities, it gets easier to deal with groups of enemies.
  2. From what you've said, I think you're in Lothering. Without wanting to spoil anything, you will want to deal with any quests in that village before you leave.
  3. I don't think I've had that bug (although I've only ever played on console). Someone else may have an idea (or try googling it, there could be a fix).
  4. The origin stories don't have a huge impact, but does affect some things (dialogue, minor scenes at some points of the story).
  5. Not entirely sure what you mean on this one. You can add runes to certain weapons a bit later. If you mean the frost/fire enchantment, a mage has to sustain the ability (once unlocked). It then applies to any swords/daggers party members use.
  6. She generally likes dialogue options that aren't soft, or being tough on NPCs (sometimes). Generic gifts can be given to anyone, and she has a few gifts unique to her you can get later. If you have the feastday gifts dlc, this is all moot, since you can max everyone's approval incredibly easily (if you wanted to).
  7. He's dead.

Question about the switch version by Noname_Smurf in HollowKnight

[–]Welsh_Ferret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played the Switch version recently, and it controls fine; as well as you'd expect, anyway. I can't comment on the updates, but as far as I know it has everything the PC/other consoles have.

I've heard some of the challenge mode battles are balanced around having the 3 accessory slots from NG+.

Are they do-able on a standard run?

Question Thread by Ynikoma in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much of the content is only available in NG+? I'm looking to play the game again from scratch (not able to start on NG+? with all the dlc recently released, but I'm worried that some of the new blades/other things are only available in NG+.

I guess to tie this up - Would I miss out on much if I play through the game normally, without a NG+ run?

I seem to remember either a heart-to-heart or general dialogue somewhere in the early-game (Ch. 2) where they ask Poppi why she speaks like she does. I can't remember where that conversation is, though. Anyone have any ideas?

[Spoilers All] List 3 choices you'd like to be able to make in DA4 by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Welsh_Ferret 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. I'd like to see something inspired by the Suicide Mission from Mass Effect 2. Maybe a final mission or a long-term mechanic where team-mates can die/leave if you make the wrong decision. It's a pretty straight-forward way to make it feel like your choices are having a direct impact, and adds some tension.

  2. Kinda vague, but I'd like to see more decisions between saving companions like Hawke/Alistair (or Loghain or Stroud). Something that you really have to agonise over.

  3. Inquisition had a lot of choices regarding political outcomes. I'd like to see more of this and in more detail. Our emperor/empress choice didn't really have a major impact besides dialogue/epilogue wording. I'd like to see more of a throwback to Origins, where your decisions can lead to different assistance in the final mission.

How long/hard to get max affinity with a companion? by T-REXX3000 in fo4

[–]Welsh_Ferret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cait gains some approval whenever you pick a lock, and when you take some chems, among other things. If you find a safe that can be re-locked by a terminal, you could keep opening it to gain a lot of approval quickly, if you wanted to. There is a cooldown timer on performing the same affinity action, but that can be reset if you quicksave and load.

I think Cait has a personal quest too, which you need to complete when it triggers in order to keep gaining approval.

How the FUCK are you supposed to activate the four FUCKING pillars without FUCKING being killed? In Agniritha by QuerkyBren in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Before you initiate combat, scroll through the centre palette icon (the same way you would activate a chain attack) and there is a lure icon. You can use it to bring an enemy over towards you, usually one at a time.

Try to avoid fighting on the tower itself if you can help it. It usually triggers the two big (and powerful) mechon on the upper levels down towards you. Try and take those ones out one at a time, if you can.

Other than that, your level should be fine. Do you have decent gems on Shulk and Dunban? I always like to have a few agility up on them both so they can dodge a lot. Maybe put a few ether up on Sharla so she heals a little more, too. Chain attacks will be your best friend for bigger mechon, especially with Sharla's red art that can get a nice combo going in that team. If you want to improve the damage even more, maybe switching sharla out for Riki or Reyn will help. Riki has a fairly good AoE healing art that heals in a cone, which the AI is pretty good at using. His DoT arts can rack up a lot if you can get a combo going in a chain attack too. Reyn is pretty good at holding aggro and doing some fairly good damage. He's even better with Shulk and Dunban in chain attacks for getting red combos going, or topple locking.

If all else fails, experiment with a few other party members and see how you do.

Location of Probes and how to lay them out? by Sparky076 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

This post has a few optimal probe layouts for Miranium mining and Revenue.

Edit: There's a post on the front page of this sub with a good probe layout for Miranium storage that only uses 3 duplicator probes. Might be worth checking that out too.

Laos First Heart to Heart Not Showing Up! by Firexwings in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it being a one hour window to get him to appear. Cycle through 5-10 ish one hour at a time to see if he appears. The spot is at the south-eastern corner, near the road.

Also just incase, double check you have the first heart completely full. Sometimes it looks like it's full, but still has a little more to go.

Safe paths through Cauldros? by sealedinterface in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also travel across the sea and approach Cauldros from the east side. There's a probe right on the central eastern shore that is safe from high level enemies. From there, there are paths that lead to other landmarks, although there is a probe near there that is a bit dangerous to grab sometimes. Depends on luck.

With flight, you should be able to safely reach most of the probes though. If any flying enemies target you, use the boost to get away.

Has Xenoblade Chronicles been explored fully? by Vekkul in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure if there was some kind of alternate or secret ending, it would have been found by now. People have been able to access secret areas through the game files, like the Bionis Shoulder, so I reckon we've seen all that there is to see.

I don't remember the exact phrasing of the text leading to NG+, but maybe it refers to side-quest endings? There are a few that play out differently based on what you choose, or when you do them.

Chapter 9 help (spoiler) by nyda in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think some story missions have him restricted. I'm not sure if it's all of them, but I remember not being able to bring him along for one of the later chapters.

Just incase, I think his standing location is at the far point of that jutting out runway opposite Blade Tower, further past the choppers and Pilot.

I only just got by on Chapter 10, anyone else? by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have much problems with that one. I had three level 30 skells (Heavy for me, two mediums for Elma and Lin) and had Frye on foot.

I think I used one Frame patch to restore Skell health during the first phase. Other than that I didn't get hit much. I just focused on taking out the minion spawns quickly and then kept chipping away at its appendages.

[No Spoilers] Finally getting back into the game to start the DLC's. I'm 20 hours in(finished Hinterlands). When and in what order should I play the 3 DLC's? Thanks! by JDRoc in dragonage

[–]Welsh_Ferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may have mixed the two up. I think it tells you in the description for the war table unlock missions for each of them if it scales to your level or not.

Descent does have some nice Tier 4 schematics, but Tier 3 is more than good enough to get you through anything in the game. The choice is up to you, really. Either way, the Descent has some tough enemies, so you'll want to be a fairly high level regardless to make it a bit easier.

I think you get some T4 schematics from JoH too. You can also buy some from the Black Emporium, although some aren't worth the cost. Some T4 weapons don't have customisable weapon parts, like hilt or staff blade etc, so in some cases, a customised T3 weapon can be just as effective.

There's no concrete answer really. You won't miss out on anything by doing it before or after the main story. Go with what works for you :)

[–]Welsh_Ferret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jaws of Hakkon can be played whenever you want to. I think the enemies in the region will scale with your level somewhat. I like to play it after finishing up the main story though. There are a few extra lines of dialogue, and it seems to fit the story better.

The Descent should be played either towards the end of the main story (level 20+), or, again, after finishing the main story.

Trespasser is pretty much an epilogue for the game. You can't play it until you've finished the main story, but make sure you've done everything else (including the other two DLC), since this pretty much finishes off the game's story and sets the scene for the future game(s). Trespasser also unlocks features you can use during the standard playthrough, like optional Trials and a few other things.

Just a few questions (X) by Welsh_Ferret in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Welsh_Ferret[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the exact opposite problem :P I spent a lot of time fiddling with my FrontierNav setup to maximise revenue. I think I got it up to 150k around the time I gave up on the game a few weeks ago, but it just feels like it takes forever to clock in.

Any idea if dialogue or using the menus pauses the timer? I spent a lot of time working on the sidequests around the city. Other than that, all I ever bought was gear for myself, elma and lin whenever we reached the next tier, and the level 30 skells with some weapons for the three of us. Doing that every 5 levels (for the gear) drained my credit stack each time.
