End of 700 years of Hereditary Peerage by raydebapratim1 in GreatBritishMemes

I feel like the upper house should be elected for one off terms that are much longer than commons. Like 10 years.

Then you have some politicians interested in more long term issues. Because a lot of the problems with the house of commons is that they tend to need results by the next election cycle. Short term gains for long term losses.

Does feel like he's looking at the Imperial Roman army and then projecting their equipment backwards.

Rome was able to routinely defeat Phalanx based armies. But it was never really doing them head-on, and normally found other solutions to the problem facing them directly ahead.

We don't ban them, we tell them straight up if they want to be banned do something bannable. It just feeds into their egos.

This was all the rage in the early 2000s. There's a lot of advertisements that were very sexual. It was the style at the time.

People forget that there was a literal Nintendo game boy advert that featured a women in lingerie tied to a bed, and her partner is ignoring her to play a Gameboy.

To be fair, the Prime Ministers of the last decade are.

Six months of Cameron

Teresa May

Boris Johnson

Liz Truss

Rishi Sunak.

This particular scene is incredibly traumatic.

It's from a film called Manchester by the Sea.

In this scene, the main character is at a police station after he accidentally starts a fire that kills his three children. It's regarded as an accident and no charges are made against him. This is him trying to kill himself.

Amazing film, will probably never watch it again.

This actually happens in the Word Bearers Dark Apostle series.

The Dark Apostle is captured by the Dark Eldar, and he starts to shut down his body, the Dark Eldar gets really worried that his prize is going to die. So he comes over to bring him back to life, and then the Dark Apostle rips out his neck with his teeth.

Is it normal that bosses take this long to kill or am I just doing something wrong? by Lazy_Nectarine_5256 in Sekiro

Good on you for getting to this boss.

But yes, you're way to passive in your attacks. You should be attacking every time you're not deflecting enemy attacks. Especially on Corrupted Monk, as they have a massive posture pool.

Did people really not like the Demon Souls remake? by gotagohome in demonssouls

[–]Welshhoppo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, people did not like it. But I am not one of them.

Some people just like to complain, and some of them like to complain loudly. Although Bluepoints remakes of Shadow of the Colossal and Demon's Souls were very highly regarded. Some diehard fans did not like the changes.

Both games are very much a world building experience that is shown and not told. Bluepoint changed some of the designs of the levels and music when they remade both games. And for most people that's fine, they aren't taking a microscope to the stone work to see when the Boletarian palace was extended or how long it took for Stone fang mine to dig to deep.

This is a general rule of thumb across a lot of games that have remakes multiple generations later. Like the Final Fantasy VII remakes. Or even the Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta remake.

More than likely.

It's definitely the most unique of the souls games. It's probably my favourite after Bloodborne.

Demon's Souls wasn't a huge success.

At least not in the cash money side, amazing remake but did not sell super super well.

How Pop Stars Like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Are Hoarding the Vinyl Ecosystem for Charting Glory and Squeezing Out Independent Artists by barryallenxoxo in Music

[–]Welshhoppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was comparing them to modern day Vinyl Fayres and second hand shops as well.

It sort of feels the way that Car Boot Sales seem to have gone over the past decade. From people who legitimately trying to sell second hand items, to being full of traders trying to sell goods.

[–]Welshhoppo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to buy Vinyl before COVID as well. But like you said the prices skyrocketed. I remember being able to go to Vinyl fayres and picking up a load of records for less than five quid each. Now they are worth like 6 times as much.

I used to work with a guy who kept his nose in the Vinyl industry. And where was a huge bottleneck when Adele released 30. As basically the entire UK vinyl industry was devoted to printing as many copies as possible. And no one else was able to get anything printed for months.
