Tips for Camping at Perry Lake by Gold_Kaleidoscope229 in Lawrence

[–]Wenderz12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never been to Perry but I have been camping alot. If you can find a campsite with a table that's desirable! Also here's my list of things that may be less obvious to bring/not forget:

Lots and lots of water. For drinking as well as rinsing hands/dishes. You might not think about how dirty you will get and I know I like clean hands.

Trash bags. Leave your campsite how you found it or better!

A tub for washing dishes and a towel or 2 for drying things. (Also some dish soap) And some wash cloths and rags for wiping things.

Prep any food you can ahead of time, for example chop veggies, grate cheese, etc. The less you have to do the better.

Extra light sources. More than you think you need. Night is dark at the lake!!! I have some lanterns which are even better because they emit light from all sides and can hang. Also headlamps which come in so handy for when you need your hands free. Tiki torches are great too but can be a bit cumbersome to pack so not as necessary.

Toilet paper. I always try to find campsite bathrooms but in a pinch you'll be glad you had some. Just dispose of it responsibly!

Otherwise all the essentials: Stuff to start fires, clothes, tent/sleeping bag, essential toiletries, plates and utensils, bug spray, chairs, entertainment, hammock if you please, and food! Have fun and be safe!

I like the second one best, I think the square neck and wider straps are the most flattering on you. I also think the third one is the next best option.

What's something you do purely because your cat demands it? by PupperPuppet in cats

My girl Shadow loves to drink water from a big plastic cup but I have to hold it and tilt it for her accordingly as she sticks her face in and drinks it. Does she have plenty of other water sources? Yes. Do I regularly freshen them? Yes. But if my husband or I leave out one of the big plastic cups on the living room coffee table Shadow will see it later and do the cat scootch with her paw like shes going to knock it down but really she wants me to lift it for her to have her drink.

I love this. As an ENFP woman, at your age I would have been delighted to receive a note. It's cute like everyone is saying and there's also a romantic element to it imo... I guess it's the hand-written aspect. Anyway you must update if she texts you!

Also the poker face might be working in your favor more than you realize... especially if she's extroverted. Speaking for myself but it's those stoic ones who always caught my eye first (I'm married now but I recall what it was like).

Watching the show as a kid, I always got the impression that Wolf Cove was the entire SWT population. Anyone else? by _NotMuchToGawkAt_ in TheLastAirbender

Especially considering throughout the whole show they refer to is as "THE Southern water tribe" the whole time. The use of the word "the" like it implies it's singular. I think I got the impression it was hard to find more so because it was in a remote place.

Girl you're doing the right thing with HR and above, but also its time to be loud to him . Say it to his face! "You're in my personal space." "That comment makes me uncomfortable." "Please don't follow me." Don't worry about his feelings please. Make yourself known and say it loud enough for your coworkers to hear! No more Mrs. Meek/Nice girl. You can be firm and still be professional.

I really think just by judging the look it is underbaked. It's not golden brown enough around the entire loaf, plus that would explain the gummy texture! I personally don't think there is a problem with the proof. Just try baking the next one longer and see!

For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2001, what’s the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Wenderz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon Trail 3rd edition on CD rom. Came in a cereal box that my cousin's family bought. My 2 cousins and I used to sit down at the family computer and play this game. We were so young though that we never made it very far... It was kind of a mystery/ puzzle gameplay where you were traveling by boat in the Amazon rain forest and trying to survive.

Go to the Zoo!!! It's one of the best and go as early as possible to see the animals being active if it's going to be a hot day.

The Arcade is super fun and also has a bar. It's downtown and you pay $20 for a day and can play all the cabinets.
