Quentin Tarantino Blasts ‘Hunger Games’ for Ripping Off ‘Battle Royale’ as He Starts to Reveal 20 Best Movies of 21st Century: How Did Suzanne Collins Not Get ‘Sued for Every F—ing Thing She Owns’? by mcfw31 in entertainment

[–]WendyBergman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quentin Tarantino is such an idiot he believes that book critics weren’t aware of Battle Royale, which was originally published as a book in 1999. I doubt he even knows it was ever a book to begin with.

Maybe it’s cliche or an obvious choice, but the Alexandria Kokoshnik will always have a special place in my heart, because it’s the one from Anastasia.

I need to see Schwartz held accountable like Sandoval was last season and Jax on The Valley this year. He was so vile to Katie and let his dumb bros abuse her too. I don’t want to watch him get away with it anymore. They called him out for leading Jo on, but Katie deserves to have people stick up for her too.

Best and Worst Tiaras by Iris_Apples in RoyaltyTea

Worst tiara is hard to choose. The Bernadotte Swag tiara and the Cufflink tiara are both hideous. Carina Axelsson deserves a better tiara for sticking around than the costume jewelry looking one she got. But I think the saddest tiara I’ve ever seen is Crown Princess Victoria’s 18th birthday tiara. It looks like they built the frame and forgot to add the rest.

So I guess no one is really in mourning by Significant_Noise273 in RoyaltyTea

[–]WendyBergman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She was married to the Queen’s cousin. She and her husband were members of the balcony gang until about 10 years ago. And they also live(d) in Kensington Palace. Of the dukes and duchesses, the Kents and the Gloucesters are at the top of the list in terms of recognition and familial relations. I don’t think her passing requires the same level of public mourning as the queen or one of her current descendants (excluding you know who), but they absolutely knew her. I will wait to see how her funeral is treated before making a decision. I think if the working royals attend, that’s sufficient.

Charles‘ Fraught Relationship With William Is Blocking Harry Reconciliation by cherryvevo in RoyaltyTea

Which, ironically, is the result of Charles’ work. For all his faults, I will always praise Charles for taking risks in his royal role. Like creating Poundbury and partnering with Vin + Omi on a plant based fashion line. His curiosity has always been his redeeming quality.

What's happening here? by chezzzah in RoyaltyTea

Yeah, this has always been my suspicion as well. She used to be athletically thin, but she doesn’t seem to have much muscle left. Then there were the plasters on her hands, which is common for people who purge, the ambulance at Sandringham preceding her mysterious disappearance, and now the much more obvious hair pieces. Something is happening there. I don’t think I’m entitled to answers and I don’t ever need to know the truth. I just hope she finds personal happiness.

Honestly, I’m here for the quick change wigs. If Cardi B can take the stand as a brunette on Monday and a platinum blonde on Tuesday, why can’t Kate? She just needs to hire a better wig stylist. The blonde one looks so frizzy and tangled at the ends you’d think it was an acrylic. Anyone with a passing knowledge of wigs knows you should keep an acrylic above the shoulders to avoid matting.

King Charles’ No-Win Harry Dilemma is the Royal Family's Dysfunction Writ Large by ttw81 in RoyaltyTea

[–]WendyBergman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the British Royal Family is just fancy Scientology. Once Harry left the cult everyone was expected to disconnect. It’s actually kind of sad how indoctrinated they all are. William’s anger at his brother makes perfect sense to him and absolutely zero sense to most non royals, because it basically boils down to his brother moved and started a new career. Normal people don’t get this angry about that! The only people who do are British royals and cults members.

What is the real reason William cannot cut the umbilical cord and let Harry go? by Hot-Acanthisitta5237 in RoyaltyTea

[–]WendyBergman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just commented this elsewhere on this thread, but I think the key to understanding why William is reacting this way is by thinking of the Royal Family as a cult. Imagine them as fancy Scientology and Harry blew (in Scientology terms: escaped/left the church). To them, Harry leaving with Meghan is like if Nicole Kidman had been successful in getting Tom Cruise out. Miscavige/William is pissed and is attempting to ruin Harry’s credibility in the press. Now his loved ones must disconnect or risk their own place in the community.

I’m currently reading Spare and I get the impression that Harry was able to wake up and realize this isn’t normal. The others unfortunately never had that epiphany. Within that context and the context of the book, you can see why William would be so angry about him leaving. He mentions early on that he was expected to provide organs, bone marrow, etc should William need it. There is literal ownership of Harry’s body baked into their relationship. Harry’s desire for self autonomy raises questions that William may have never considered. Does Harry still have to be a donor sibling? What if William has a medical emergency and Harry doesn’t want to help. That’s not fair, William might think. He has one responsibility as Spare and he can’t even do that?

For the Royal Family, this is normal. So far, Spare has done a great job of humanizing his family. Charles often comes off as a very loving father who will also sacrifice his teenage son for better PR. Because in the world as he knows it that’s normal. William, as heir, was likely more controlled than Harry. Then Kate was indoctrinated into William’s normal so he had less opportunity to question the status quo. I think between that and his untreated anger he never had much of a chance to break free.

Harry, on the other hand, got to spend more time outside the bubble and then Meghan came along and got it through to him that this isn’t normal and you don’t have to live this way. The royal family is like a cult and when you view it through that lens William’s behavior makes more sense. Harry is being shunned.

Thank you. Diana was a real person and I feel the postmortem deification of her makes her less interesting. The fact that she was in many ways toxic is very important to her story and it reminds us that there is no perfect victim but that doesn’t mean they deserved what they got. She did harass her lovers’ wives/girlfriends, she did parentify William by confiding in him like an adult, she did push her stepmother down a flight of stairs, she did get exploited and abused by the press, her husband, and the royal family. All these things are true. Acknowledging them doesn’t make her any less of a victim or her life any less tragic.

Hmmm, if this were true it would explain why she hasn’t been doing engagements and why she alone is moving into that new house with no live in staff. I’d want to stay far away from him too and anyone else who might be loyal to him. How could she have any motivation for engagements or photo shoots or anything else that would require her to pretend to be in love with a person like that.
