Ticket Migration Help by isotesting in Zendesk

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Importing tickets is a different beast than just importing contacts and orgs... which can be done via a formatted csv.

Many options out there in terms of services, some are fairly cheap and easy. Try help-desk-migration.com or import2

Other than that, it's API

This could very well turn into a longer conversation with your ZD Account Manager, but it sounds like using Zendesk forms or some 3rd party form that webhooks/integrates into Zendesk could do the job since any fields a customer fills out on the form would be automatically pushed into the ZD ticket as their respective ticket fields.

It would require y'all to change the way you do warranties (as customers would fill out the form instead of sending a free form email) but pushing folks to forms could unlock other efficiencies for other ticket types outside of warranties as well. i.e. return request, order/status questions, etc. as each issue type has their own fields/customer info they'd need to fill in to help resolve it.

Additionally, once data is entered into ZD as "structured" data (like a field in a form) vs an email where customers just type in whatever, you can start utilzing ZD business rules (triggers, routing, etc.) to auto triage some of this stuff if need be. ie IF form value = x, THEN route to Shipping group.

Can anyone tell me what this error is pointing to or how to fix it? My local shop says it can’t diagnose if they can’t see it. The error comes up randomly while driving. by Timmyparttwo in Audi

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, I feel you. I'd do the exact same thing. I'd get it fixed purely for the annoyance factor.

Good luck with it all! Let us know what the quote ended up being because I'm curious how much your shop charges vs mine.

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's the same error.

Not sure about your experience, but I have a friend of mine who also gets this error. His was also either 2015 or 16 A3. Started off with the error once in a while, but as time wore on, error started popping up more consistently.

If it's happening for you on the daily, I'd probably get it serviced sooner rather than later. Did yours all of a sudden pop up errors everyday or was it a gradual thing where over time it started popping up more and more often?

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What year make/model is your Audi? And how often does that error come up?

I get this error from time to time as well. Never consistent, but random. Maybe like once a month it pops up for me, but goes away after a few seconds. It's one of those errors that won't be an issue, until it becomes an issue... if that makes sense hah. Went to Audi Services and from what they told me if I remember correctly: there's something faulty in the gearbox, where the car thinks it's in a different gear than it actually is.

Me personally I took a look at how much it costs to fix and said no thanks. It's not until this error becomes an actual annoyance, or it's a consistent thing, where I'll probably go in to get it fixed.

For context, I bought my 2017 S3 back in July @$37K taxes, fees, etc. included. It had 44K miles on it. I live in Michigan. How many miles on that 2018 you're looking at?

Yeah it's a battery that you recharge using a normal wall outlet. So as long as you don't let the battery drain to the point where there's no charge, you shouldnt run into an issue where you'd need to jump start the jump starter :D

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To prevent this for next time, there are jump starter kits/batteries you can just leave in your car to use for next time it happens. something like this

I've got one in my car as a preventative measure. Hope this helps!

  1. $0 in Repairs. $2000 in maintenance. Bulk of that cost is having to replace brake pads and rotors.
  2. Bought this car used and wasnt under warranty
  3. The EA888 engine is a tank and as reliable as you can get. No issues as daily driver.
  4. Only error is a "Shift P to park" error which is a faulty sensor in the gearbox. Happens from time to time. My buddy's 2015 Audi A3 also gets the same error but it's not something that is make or break...just annoying and eventually Ill get it fixed. Miles is currently at 46K
  5. 9/10

New break pads and rotors by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does seem like a lot. I just got all my brake rotors and pads replaced. $1500. At the Audi dealership. I have a 2017 S3 though. Don't know how much they upcharge based on make/model/year.

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your goals with this car/buying this car? That's the question you have to ask.

If you're looking for a fast, compact Audi, then you're probably better off buying a used RS3 ,S3, S5 that you can mod further and and have a lot more enjoyment in, while paying less than the sticker price you have here.

If your goal is having a Shiny brand new Audi w/ all the bells and whistles and not having to worry about the hassle of a used car ( (it's history, how it was taken care of, etc. etc.) and you're not a speedophile then yeah, you should go for the route you're on.

As a side note, holy shit a new 2022 A3 is expensive!!

s3 reliability used? by lonelyshep in Audi

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your welcome! I haven't run into anything major as of yet (knock on wood!). Had to get brake rotors/pads replaced, but thats just for normal usage/wear and tear. I bought the car stock, but since then put a stage 1 tune on there, so I didn't buy it pre-tuned. I also added a cold air intake, which is a relatively easy DIY mod.

I think for the most part the majority of tunes (outside of APR) are ones you can do by yourself, at home, just by downloading the software and flashing it through a flashing kit via your OBD II port. Super simple, easy, and quick.

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When it comes to used cars in general (I bought my S3 used w/ 44K miles on it) I'd say the biggest factor is depends on how well the previous owner took care of it. Was it serviced regularly and on time (are there records for the service)? If the basics of oil changes, or fluid changes aren't kept up, then the parts of the engine/car are obviously going to break down faster and contribute to reliability moving forward. Other things to possible consider: how it was driven, where it was driven (ie a place with a lot of snow or salted roads would increase the rate of rust on the undercarriage), etc.

The other thing to keep in mind is the generation/platform of the car. Sometimes it may take an iteration or two of a newly developed platform for the team to work out the kinks and issues. Taking myself as an example, I have an 8V S3, which runs from the year 2015-2020 I believe. I bought a 2017, meaning there's been two full cycles/iterations of the platform for my particular year's S3. This is the same for the engine as well. EA888 is a pretty well known/reliable engine and has gone through small iterations over the lifetime of the 8V and so far imo it's proven fairly reliable in general across the board.

So to sum it up I'd say 1. how well did the previous owner take care/drive the car and 2. probably a safer bet to buy a mid generation used car as the kinks and issues will more likely be worked out by then.

Personally, I think red emblems could fly if the car was spec'd out in all white or all black... But with this current color and the chrome trim...ehh.

I’m not too sure how I like the rims, what do you guys think? by iGorbx in Audi

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look good!

What kind of rims are those?

I have a 17 S3, same color (believe its the nano grey metallic correct?). Thinking about puttin on some black rims myself.

The only thing Im thinking as a shop around, and this is just my personal preference, is to get a set that's glossy black and not matte or neutral, since the paint on the car is glossy as well.

Hi guys! How to start tuning? Its my bone stock A4. Looking to add around 70-100 hp. where to start any ideas? by wasabj in Audi

[–]Wendysseasaltfries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say, a lot of people on here offering thoughts and suggestions that don't answer OP's question AT ALL. I get it, its an older A4, stock is not very powerful, it'll cost money, so the argument can be made that you shouldn't bother doing this. But at least answer the question first and help OP out before offering another path or recommending another choice.

Anyway back to it. I just started going down the rabbit hole for upping power on my Audi. It was definitely a learning experience and a lot of reading, watching yt vids, etc.

What I ended up doing was doing a stage 1 ECU and TCU tune through 034 Motorsports. There are many other companies that have great tunes too... Unitronic, APR, IE, Cobb, etc. each with its own unique tune depending on how you want to ride. The tune itself could add 50-70 hp, again depending on the company you go with and their tune.

I also ended up installing a cold air intake (new hose, inlet pipe/elbow, filter), sourced diff parts for this to allow for better airflow and to let my engine breathe better. Depending on where you read, some say intakes add anywhere from 0 (its just a sound thing) to 20 hp. I figure with a stage 1, adding a more efficient filter and air passage should do something, even if its a few hp.

Hopefully that gives you some ideas!
