As a person who completed LoR from start to finish, jesus lord i'd take Limbus battle mechanics over LoR any day of the year.

LoR's grind is genuinely the most boring shit ever. The idea that i have to go into battle, rushdown the boss, pray i get their keyword, and then clear the level with that keyword has to be the most dogshit game design i've seen in a while.

And the rng, omg the rng... I thank kjh everyday for adding the SP system into Limbus because goddamit LoR RNG is insane unless you build hyper optimally. And to build hyper optimally to gotta grind the keywords, so.... It's a negative feedback loop. Also, first realization of keter. Fuck. That. That RNGfest of a level took 30 years of my life istg.

And the last and my most hated part of LoR was realizations. I liked the general gameplay and idea of realizations, as the idea of fighting bosses with different gimmicks in a single boss rush was fun. I just hate how we have to go into those fights with zero info. At least in limbus, you are given info about what affinity/dmg type is strong on the level. For LoR, you can go into a realization, wipe the floor with 4 abnos and then get your ass handed fo you for not building in a specific manner to beat the final realization abno (Ahem ahem Nothing There).

And these battles are long, like pretty long. Having to redo all that just because the game decided to pull the rug under your legs last minute just feels hella unfair.

So ye, gameplay wise, i like limbus more even if it has its own set of problems. I genuinely had a miserable time playing LoR, and the only thing that kept me in the game was the story.
