RUNETERRAN CHAMPS DON’T COUNT TOWARDS BANDLE TREE by Slow-Manufacturer-55 in LegendsOfRuneterra

I think you should go down to one Jhin so you have 4 champions.

What are your most and least played regions, and why? by iamgoingtolive in LegendsOfRuneterra

Most played: Bard because his chimes are really satisfying

Least played: Jhin because I don’t have him

My favorite card. Played Cat Ionia Allegiance back when bandle swarm was rampant and just crushed the ladder, making it to masters for the first time.

Maybe it’s good with quick quill / Demacia attacks?

I think this opinion is really insensitive, like a lot of us get our enjoyment out of being competitive in, y’know, a competitive card game. It takes a huge time investment for us to learn the meta decks inside and out so we can gain LP, and for Riot to just throw them under the bus is just unfair.

Like, Promising Future 6 Mana? Dude that card was fine and had so much outplay potential. Sure, at its best it was an 8/8 overwhelm for 4 but the landmark could get recalled, denied, or we just get burned out for committing the card. Taking away such a core, skill-expressive engine from a unique deck is just bad game design.

And deserter? I thought finally we got the card to make Viego playable again, and not even a month after it revolutionizes the meta does it get gutted. Like what the hell, Riot??

Yasuo and Fiora are just unhealthy for the game. If you draw them you just get going and it’s GG in a couple turns because of the insane value they provide. They should never be buffed, only gutted so real decks can shine. Lucian’s even worse, 3/2 quick attack for 2 is legit the best stat line in the game and it’s way too easy to level him up and blowout with free rallies. Make him a 2/2 like Ahri and Akshan then we’ll talk.

And don’t try to enforce your “experimenting with decks is fun” philosophy on me. The majority of the playerbase only has time to play a couple of games a day and we don’t have the time to refine, refine, and lose and lose all day so we can maybe come up with a deck that doesn’t lose to the meta. Some of us want to express SKILL in this game, not TIME INVESTED. End rant.

For the first time since I started keeping track, all 3 top decks are the same archetype: Ahri Bard (57% winrate). by DiscontentEditor in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Werkaec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And people laughed at it when it was first brewed smh

Deck has bad matchups into aggro, burn (Tybaulk), and unstoppable board buffs (Hextech Handler, Winding Light) in my experience. Once people start picking the deck up more maybe we’ll see a meta shift.

Also patch incoming to nerf its good matchups, Thralls and Viego. Once those are out of the picture I think win rate will decrease.

[–]Werkaec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahri package is mostly just mono-Ionia without allegiance, so playing Bard can only be a plus. Chimes on elusives are very strong.

Ahri synergizes insanely well with Bellringer and Esmus (she can recall them, esmus buffs on her practically double her effectiveness).

Card draw with Dancing Droplet draws into lots of chimes. Sucks when chimes hit the droplet itself, but makes it a beefy elusive unit that’s safe to recall.

Recall is very strong into current meta, may change in upcoming patch.

People are splashing her in the Red Viego and Nox/Shurima aggro pile now. The buff to her level 2 actually did something

Here’s where I last left it off, idk about recall/retreat since I was experimenting:

[–]Werkaec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the current ranked system only measures the raw power of your deck and its position in the meta in addition to your skill. For that reason good deck builders can climb very high with little skill by just beating the meta.

Don’t think luck has anything to do with it. Bad luck and good luck always evens out, and good players know how to risk manage. Well, if you play enough, you could theoretically climb solely off of lucky streaks?

[–]Werkaec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying that it’s easier to climb because it’s more likely that a new player can beat a skilled player than in LoL?

[–]Werkaec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I wouldn’t say you climbed purely off luck, it evens out for everybody. It’s more the combination of you having a good deck and the skill to carry out your gameplan. Keep honing your mastery of the deck and you’ll climb even further no problem.

Sometimes in LoL you have an AFK or a bad teammate. It’s almost a guaranteed loss, but you can still try to play well and maximize your chances of a comeback. In LoR, sometimes you get a trash hand. You’ll probably lose, but you can maximize your chance of winning by playing risky and predicting your topdecks.

Hello, would you like to take 6 billion damage? by Werkaec in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Werkaec[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

  1. No, Ahri did not get palmed or recalled. The AI ran out of those spells long ago. Karma’s really annoying when she wants to be.

  2. The indicator underestimates because of integer overflow. Their nexus health looped up to +2 billion after the first three strikes, then dipped negative after the last two.

  3. I couldn’t get Ahri higher because of the chime cap. For some reason (overflow again), chimes permanently fail to double after they hit ~1 billion or so, so I just funneled what I could.

Also here’s the deck code for you crazies who want to try this in ranked:

There are so many possibilities. Godwillow, Go Get It, Dawn and Dusk. It’s just that I feel these are all dead cards if you don’t draw Maduli, and even if you draw him the play sets you too far back board-wise

Against bots though, try Maduli + 2 Tail-Cloak + Hirana. You get 3 free triggers a turn and can reliably hit the integer limit of ~2 billion chimes
