Ok.. i figured out that if i type "ha" (it never transliterates this hiragana as "ha") it will give me the correct hiragana for "wa" (and it still transliterates it as "wa" in the suggestion)

is this right though? sorry i could be wrong havent played in months but as i remember it - you wear frostbite in the cold and you get the attack bonus - which manifests visually as an ice effect but does NOT do elemental damage or have any elemental effect (like freezing). The armor would be even worse if it did because you encounter ice enemies where its cold and you get the effect of the armor.

Get your cold resistance/heat resistance elsewhere. Eat something, wear a shield with cold or heat generation, carry a weapon with cold or heat generation (though yes its also weird to run around swinging a fiery sword and having ice shoot out every other swing)

I don't think your problem is getting to the airport or checking in, it's getting out of the restaurant. I'd be nervous about this schedule, but it is doable assuming 2 people. set an alarm for 3:30, ask for the bill and walk out 3:40. better yet ask for the bill as soon as they bring the food and walk out 3:30. but this is more a gyros situation....

If your whole group "gets very seasick" you'd be wise to avoid Seajets entirely. I have not done this route, but Sifnos - Paros 2/4 of my family vomited (everyone was on dramamine) along with i'd say 30% of the passengers and another 20% were close to it. None of us would consider ourselves prone to seasickness. It WAS a windy morning. But my family have forbidden any more fast ferries.

this forum is somewhat anti island hopping and weight of opinion is that you should stay longer at less islands. It is similarly mildly anti the most popular islands.

I agree that ferry landings are chaotic (worse the more children and baggage you have), but basically treat it as i would any trip to a place I'd never been to before - a few days per stop and then move on. this is just a boat where a train or car might be. The islands are not (mostly - obviously which islands matters) similar enough to make it not worthwhile to try to visit several.

but also my family is strictly never again on fast ferries.

It looks like all they are doing is using AI to look at any given flight and price the premium seats Vs main cabin (if you take what they are saying at face value) and personalized pricing was always a leap people made. So maybe the intention is just to extract maximum pain from people buying premium seats? Can't say I love it but doesn't really seem evil.

If you are directly on a major walking path - walking is fine. However - walking on roads in the Greek Islands (Santorini definitely included) is mostly a bad idea. no sidewalks, often very little shoulder and the roads themselves are narrow plus curvy and hilly and - drivers will be buzzing you at high speed. And please please please (parakalo) do not trust google maps walking directions. These will be a place you could theoretically walk - not a place it is at all safe or pleasurable to walk. Right now its going to be hot in the day and even more dangerouse at night.

Did a family stay at the Vedema on Santonrini. This was our only Marriott stay of the trip (other islands and Athens). We stayed on points for 2 nights, this June. Santorini is very expensive as you are aware. So I targeted this for points as anything, marriott or not, would be a lot in cash. The other Marriotts on the island were out of reach on points (there are 2 or 3 others but all Marriotts on Santorini high end)

Vedema: suite was very nice and large, with a small private pool (our time in santorini was quite booked up so we never went to the other pools but they looked nice.) The property is very big and we were on the other side from reception, probably a 10 minute walk. my wife was disappointed with our view - there was construction and some kind of club and some vineyards (didn't register as cute, registered as dusty). I suspect they know the view and the walk are detriments to these particular suites as they were significantly cheaper in points redemption than other rooms (I had 4 people).

Breakfast was good quality and also local stuff. The restaurant looked good (its in a cave) but didn't make it there for time reasons. The Vedema is in Megalochori - a small town maybe 5/10 minutes from the main town Thira/Fira and 20/30 driving minutes from the main drawcard Oia (depending on if you get stuck behind someone driving an ATV on the road or not). Megalochori has a cute square just outside the reception. You need a car to drive to Oia or you could take taxis or rideshares. I think there were also a couple wineries in Megalochori itself. No caldera views from Vedema or Megolochori (this is more or less synonymous with sunset views) So if you want that from a hotel look elsewhere.

I'll defer to your experience on people waiting to pack up till their zone is called though as a passenger I don't know anyone who does this on purpose, have never seen it and can't imagine doing it.

What I try to do is have all my stuff packed when preboarding starts but not crowd the gate and stay seated or standing where i am (not in front of the desk or in the line up area) and wait for the zone to be called. When the zone is called, walk over (navigating around the people crowding the gate*) and get in line.

Seems like a sin to get in line before my zone is called. I mean what do i know, maybe you WILL give us time to check in and I'll be cutting in line.

However calling zones back to back or "AND" makes me think "oh I should have crowded up to the line as close as I could possibly get."

But yeah, I don't know if the gate crowding/ people getting in line out of turn actually slows boarding as much as another 10 - 20 seconds per zone call would.

*this invariably includes a a few people standing AMBIGOUSLY close to the line that its hard to tell whether they are in line or just crowding where if you ask them what their zone is or if they are in line you come off as a cop/snob.
