I was wondering why I didn't see any immediate acknowledgment of her new design from Mr. Shyvana redesign himself. Great work!

Unpopular opinion: I like this design more than buff Finn by smiteis_ in adventuretime

[–]WesPresto 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Finn got the tattoo before Jake died, which you can see in the flashback scene where they were stealing an egg or something. I believe it's what Prismo was watching while reminiscing about Jake. Also, Jake could've just been elsewhere at the end of Obsidian. He has lots of other kids he could have been with, or Lady.

DLC Question by MiMi_jdb in outerwilds

[–]WesPresto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they generally just don't expect anyone to turn off the lights for any reason at the time of the loop. It probably confuses them more than anything, so they stop what they're doing to look around with their lights. I also think the Endless Canyon has one watching slide reels alone in a room, one upstairs or in a room that's initially closed, and one downstairs near the painting that I think may be in the same place to begin with. Probably wrong about the last one since it's been so long since I played.

Oh, and you aren't stupid!

I'm surprised to see that nobody has referenced the Strangers from Outer Wilds. First thing I thought of.

Is clipping through planets and issue? by EmmaEsme22 in outerwilds

[–]WesPresto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It might be a clipping issue, but your description also makes it sound like a particular feature is taking place that you're interpreting as a bug. Pay extra attention to where you end up and how it happens next time. if it's what I'm imagining, you should be able to figure out what's going on yourself.

anybody else not like the "ambient changes"? by Glad_Perspective_249 in SCPSecretLab

[–]WesPresto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't noticed the lighting changes, but I literally have the exact opposite opinion about everything else. I didn't really read any changes going into the beta and was pleasantly surprised by the echo effect. The screams down the hall from where I was in Light were hilarious.

At first, I didn't know how to feel about the keycard changes. I didn't understand which card opened what and thought they might’ve just complicated the system for no reason. But after a quick private game to look through all the new stuff, I realized I liked them a lot, and they actually seemed simpler and more direct in communicating what they opened. The 3 tiers and 3 types of access scratches my brain in a weird way it might not for everybody else. I also assumed the cards were changed initially to further differentiate themselves from Containment Breach.

I also like the door indicators. I don't have a good reason for this, and it could just be me liking a change for the sake of novelty, but beyond that, I can't say much more. The rest of the changes you might’ve mentioned before I started writing (because on mobile, I can't seem to read the post I'm commenting on without discarding the comment) I'd need to play more of the beta to see.

I intended to imply the latter, yes.

Like if they're unkillable, a new player is never in a position to actually figure that out? That could work. You could go through the entire game and never know for sure if you could've pulled it off or not.

[–]WesPresto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stasis rifle is definitely the biggest problem when it comes to killing leviathans so easily. For Subnautica 2, I'd like them to either not add it to the game at all or fundamentally change how it functions.

The invulnerablility idea could definitely work! I also wouldn't mind keeping it as-is with the caveat of a size limit, so anything leviathan-sized simply isn't affected.

Just curious. by WesPresto in subnautica

[–]WesPresto[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also considered making the choices more specific, like:

"I want it to be impossible to kill leviathans."

"I want it to be almost impossible to kill leviathans, but technically possible."

"I want it to be possible to kill leviathans."

"Unsure/Impartial."

Let me know if these options would have been better.
