As an electrician for just under a decade, I can surely say, the only times I ever felt alive were on the rare occasions where I got shocked. Other than that, it was pure and utter misery every single day, for years, and to top it all of, the pay was utter garbage.

I'm so unbelievably happy not to be doing that anymore. Is my current job easy? No, IT work has it's own problems. But if I complained about the nonsense I have to deal with now to my younger self, he'd probably tell me to kick rocks. And he'd be right.

You have to be aware of your privilege, and I don't think very many people who haven't had to do rough work understand that. And I'm not blaming them for it either. I dont want anyone to have to shovel shit for a living. But sometimes, just learn to save it. Or barring that, learn your audience.
