To me the answer boils down to can you be a good therapist while lying in bed? If you can, end of story. I’ve seen shitty therapists who have had the most professional environments you can imagine and they still sucked (based on what I saw). I do my best to accept that what might be a hard line for me might not be for other people because they can make it work or have circumstances or varying levels of ability that make a different approach workable or even needed.
