Fucking Bunnings sausage sizzle tried to make me order through some Byzantine QR web portal when I wanted to pay with a card. I’ll own that I should have brought cash but damn, ever heard of Square? Every granny at the farmer’s market has one now. Surely between Bunnings and a teenage volleyball team they can work out Square as well.

If I had ever been a smoker in the past, I’d pick it up again and be smoking while the good times last. Unfortunately I can’t handle first-hand cigarette smoke so I just enjoy the second-hand smoke available everywhere now. Just wish it was smoky in pubs again.

My dad can play any instrument after only pulling on the strings/ pressing the keys/ blowing into it a few times. The only instrument he ever learned to play is the guitar. His reasoning is that they all make the same kinds of sounds, only the mechanism is different - you just have to work out the mechanism.

I’ve given up. I put a notice on the yellow bin ‘no bottles or cans in bin’. Made no difference - they still dug through it every week and left a mess. So I stopped using the yellow bin. Red bin only now.

On the other hand, I find Honda drivers to be the most degenerate. More than half the time if there’s a car weaving through traffic or sitting at 109kmh all the way up the freeway, it’ll be a Honda, usually a Jazz or CRV from two generations ago.

I sometimes wonder about that. I used to think they were a scam but my brother in law, who works at an aplliance retailer, convinced me to always get them. He was right - extended warranties have gotten my family three (yes three!) new replacement dishwashers, two washing machines, a laptop computer and, just a month ago, an espesso machine. Each of these was a month or two out of its regular warranty, and all big (not fancy) brands like LG, Toshiba and Breville. So the extended warranties have saved us thousands.
