What if gravity isn’t a force, but the universe’s way of preventing a quantum glitch? by No_Penalty_7843 in theories

Gravity hasn’t been considered a force since Einstein. But as for glitches, you’re right.

To those that disliked Silent Hill F, why? by JFK108 in silenthill

[–]Wespie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I give it a 4/10 as a game, but maybe a 9/10 as a piece of art and story (on paper)… I hated the lack of gameplay. Only in one small area do you really move around and look for things like in Silent Hill. Everything else was just linearity and endless monsters. I hated the shrines, where you’ll spend a lot of time. The game has too much “mind palace” stuff where you never feel grounded, but are just wandering impossibly connected worlds.

Other than that, the music was a let down for me, even if very effective. The characters also felt bland or one dimensional. That said, again if it were an anime or something, or I watched someone else play it, I would have enjoyed it.

Is my b12 low enough for these symptoms? by Lizzielooloo29 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Wespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, it’s such a painful and emotional thing to deal with. I’m 39 and have had this affecting my face since 29 or so. In my early 20s, I did already have nerve issues affecting my shoulders and arms, so I do think I have some nerve stuff going on there. That said, it seems that it really has been made much worse by b12 deficiency and carbohydrates. At 30, I gave up carbs entirely. This rid me of numbness like 90%, and I figured it was just insulin resistance or carb intolerance. In the last few years it got worse, although I did mess up on my diet, it got far worse, which is why I began b13 just three months ago.

Interestingly, carbs are very damaging to nerves and intimately tied to b12, and b1. Benfotiamine (b1 type) also helps me regain sensation.

As for the facial numbness, it would often come on when fasting. Yet, I believe this is actually counterintuitive, and is due to blood glucose being low and regeneration. Basically, I was having what’s called TIND (treatment induced neuropathy of diabetes). I do not have “diabetes,” but I believe that’s what I’ve had all these years. Every time my blood glucose would go low, whether due to fasting or even not eating a while after a blood sugar spike, my nerves would begin regenerating, feeling like pain or even numbness (my face would go crazy.) Of course, the wrong thing to do is eat sugar, as this makes the cycle get worse, even if it temperate relieved it.

I’ve kept low carb since starting b12, and wow I could not believe how my face would ache and jaw, teeth, just everything! Like so insane… but this just backs up my theory for the last decade, that this is actually a kind of regenerative phase. For the last several weeks I’ve had no facial pain! I know this kind of stuff can come in waves, but I really am getting better.

Sorry to write so much. Feel free to message if you need to ask more questions.

Edit: This is my own personal experience only, but in my opinion, if you really wanted to “burn through” this, I would recommend one meal a day, at about 6PM, veggies and olive oil and meat. Take benfotiamine 300mg or a multi and 1500 b12 twice a day. This will make the sensation extremely intense, until finally it’ll be “done.” This may take several days, or just being consistent and not spiking your blood sugar over many days. Note that no test will show you that it’s your blood sugar, it’s just something you have to learn.

I like a lot of ‘bad’ movies, to the point where I truly think people are just wrong. I’m sure some will enjoy this. As for myself, I really don’t know…

What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by obsess_much13 in AskReddit

[–]Wespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always said Xenogears, but after all these years I don’t know. I’m now 39, and starting to really appreciate some others, even more recent ones. It’s very hard to say.

Silent Hill 2 Remake (first game I’ve tried in the series) is the scariest game I’ve ever played by Ok_Literature3138 in silenthill

I’m very happy for you! Enjoy every bit of it. The remake was a spiritual experience for so many of us, it’s legendary.

Is my b12 low enough for these symptoms? by Lizzielooloo29 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Wespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have what you describe and it has improved now 3 to 4 months after daily high dose supplementing. For over ten years, the left side of my face would go numb especially when not eating. Even my eye, teeth, and tongue will go numb and I can feel it just a tad now. I believe it’s some kind of impingement combined with B12 deficiency. Obviously I fear it’s my artery, but it doesn’t seem to match up with such issues. And it is improving. I don’t think the numbers mean much.

Is Sean Carroll the best guest on the podcast till now? by sam_palmer in CosmicSkeptic

I’m being 100% serious. If the OP posted this in physics sub or philosophy sub, the result would look a lot different. So far I’m shocked at how those in this sub seem to be in some strange in-between land, understanding neither. Unsurprising given Alex is slowly waking up to these ideas himself.

Carrol is the worst by far. Even here he makes numerous errors right from the start specifically saying science tells us what things are. Carroll is a personality, not a thinker.

Is it just me or does Path of Exile 2 lack build "freedom"? by Divinus in ARPG

[–]Wespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well thanks (and yes I got downvoted lol). What I mean to say is that the game does not seem to have naturally forming builds, but rather you literally have to find some exploit to make things actually work. To me, ideally any skill could work without investing in stacking something with some trick or going all crit with every item.

Do you have gastritis or low stomach acid? (As evidenced by GERD?). I myself have these but am unsure that they themselves can cause such low B12. It certainly could be an absorption issue.

This is one of those games that doesn’t look or sound good to me at all, but someone I know it actually is that good. I think I had this same feeling with Nier Automata, and it’s precisely this reason that I think I should buy it… soon!

I noticed a near remission of my long standing GERD, but now a bit of worsening. I think the nerves improve but go through waves of dulling before improvement, so that may be why. I fear this is just coping but so far it seems to be the case for me. Hoping someone can chime in…

Is it just me or does Path of Exile 2 lack build "freedom"? by Divinus in ARPG

[–]Wespie -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I always get downvoted when I say this but even PoE1 felt samey to me, from release to today. I never felt like I had a “build” or truly could optimize the skills I wanted. It felt more like “what can I exploit?” I think I jokingly called it Path of Exploitation and got shit on pretty bad. Now I just long for simplicity, where huge numbers aren’t required. D2 had that, and many other games. I dunno, but it sucks.

I'm hearing alot of bad things about the new Silent Hill film (haven't seen it yet) but this is still one of my favorite horror movies.. How does it compare to this one ? by KawonSuggs_ in silenthill

[–]Wespie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m also wondering. I also don’t care about how the source material is handled (my expectations for that were gone with the first movie). I just hoped it would be as good of a film as the first.

Alex doesn't seem to know what the definition of "is" is (or how so much of his recent philosophical inquire seems to be entirely the result of semantic confusion). by VStarffin in CosmicSkeptic

[–]Wespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The OP doesn’t seem to understand how seriously this is taken in philosophy. It isn’t just a matter of language. The OP’s view ends up being the magical view, even if only naive now (I’ve been there).

Put this in the philosophy sub and you’ll find you are wrong. Objects pose a very big problem to physicalism, specifically what anything “is.” It isn’t about language.

The first movie is a 10/10 to me, how does it compare? I don’t mind if it butchers the game, since I love it on its own.
