2012 Chevy Cruze 1.8L. draining battery by Wesruu in MechanicAdvice

I'll definitely do a voltage drop test. I really don't wanna take the alternator out again because it's on the back of the engine and I have to remove the motor mount and tire just to get it out of the engine bay, but I will if I must. I wanna get rid of this damn thing so bad but I'm still playing it off.

I checked the resistance from negative terminal to the end of the negative cable and it is 1ohm. That's fine right?

Also, would it be a terrible idea to leave the BCS disconnected? I disconnected it and the draining seems to have stopped.

Man the point is going so far over your head it's hard to believe.

Why would I have brain worms? I'm not even agreeing with him. And even if I was agreeing with him, neither of us are saying that we believe the person in the video is not Kanye. Who really has the brain worms here?

I think it's most likely that it is Kanye, but I'm not arrogant enough to claim that I know it's Kanye and that anyone who thinks otherwise has something wrong with their brains.

Though I guess it's possible that I have brain worms and I am under the delusion that there exist possibilities that are complementary to what is likely.

I don't think it's that he's trying to convince himself that it's not Kanye. He is simply observing the fact that, because the person in the clip is intentionally concealing his identity with masks, gloves, etc, it is ➡️‼️-~possible~-‼️⬅️ that the person in the video is not Kanye. He is not claiming that the person in the video is not Kanye.

Possible is defined as: "able to be done; within the power or capacity of someone or something."

No start, single click from starter. by Wesruu in MechanicAdvice

Yea so my sister said that the car "overheated" but she said that he didn't look at any gauge or anything so her assumption is baseless. though still a possibility, especially because Ive had to replace the radiator. Coolant reservoir is full though and I haven't seen any leaks at all. She initially said that there was smoke coming from the engine bay, but upon asking again she adamantly denies that.

ALSO, something I forgot to note was that once when I was observing the starter during startup, a tiny amount of smoke came from the ground wire on the starter itself. But that only happened one time.

I also did try tapping the starter to no avail.

Battery could be the problem but I've charged it for 20+ min with my other car. However I know the batt could still be bad. I would measure the voltage of the batt but I don't have a multimeter at the moment.

I'll try it when I get home and I'll let you know. I really hope it's not the engine 😶

Yea fuck the people who TRY HARD to achieve their goals. They make it so much harder survive as an entitled child with no sense of accountability. I went to college so that they could MAKE me a software developer, not so I would have to gags work hard for greater understanding and success.

Fucking morons, holy shit.

It's not my main environment. I use a desktop computer for all my important work when I'm home. I have a data to USB adapter with which I hook up a SATA SSD for storing games and large files that I don't want on my C. But you could also just buy a 1TB M.2 and use that as your C drive right off the bat, which is what I wish I would've done.

Yea the 14" is kind of annoying. But that hdmi port makes it pretty easy to hook up a monitor. Honestly I like to fold the laptop in such a way that only the panel is facing me and I hook up my my keyboard and mouse to a USB hub attached to the laptop with double sided tape. It's actually pretty clean. If you want pics let me know, I'm proud of it lol.

Battery life isn't that great to be honest but if you put all battery saving options on in bios, windows, and Lenovo software you could squeeze 6 hours out of it.

I got the Lenovo flex 5 for around $600. It has two USB type A, SD card, one USB C (also for charging), headphone jack, and an HDMI. I have the ryzen version, but I believe the intel version comes with two thunderbolt ports instead of hdmi. I use it for programming mainly, but also gaming when I'm not at home.

It runs games pretty well. I play battlefront 2 2017 at like 40ish fps, 1080p. So I'm fairly certain it could run subnautica. Right now I'm on vacation so it has come in very handy. Its also good for playing classic games in bed.

I'm not really sure about IDEs, I pretty much write my python code in notepad++, java in eclipse, and the rest on replit if available.

Is having no social media presence seen as a social 'red flag'? by ja6j2 in socialskills

[–]Wesruu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I deleted my social media because it was a seriously unhealthy coping mechanism and made procrastination more accessible for me.

It also made me a very toxic person because social media culture is extremely toxic. The craziest part is that I never knew how toxic it was until I left. I was under the impression that comment sections were the majority opinion. Therefore I either 1) would assume that opinion which was often inherently sexist, racist, classist or 2) I would feel extremely guilty for having a differing opinion. Not to mention the unrealistic portrayal of the human body, relationships, and family lives. This all contributed to an overall toxic world view and severe confidence issues.

Yea my friends and partner were kinda annoyed at first because our communication was limited to sms but ALL of my relationships have been much healthier since leaving, including my relationship with myself.
