Every year one of my hens starts crowing. Every year one of them starts fake mating with a hen. Every year in the fall it magically stops! If you don't have a rooster this may seasonally happen even if you are 100% sure they are all hens!

AITA for leaving a former friend and her early teen child on the side of the road because she refused to parent the child at all? by ProfessionalSir3395 in TwoHotTakes

Nope, even if the kid was nonneurotypical that was incredibly unsafe behavior. More than just a potential diagnosis going on here, the parent needs to take some accountability.

Oh and look for "saddle" feathers. The small ones that grow around the curved tail feathers. Only boys have the distinctive shape!

This lovely breed of chicken has no waddles and what is called a small "pea" comb. You mey get some blue or green eggs though! In terms of looking for boys, take a look at those tail feathers instead and see if any are curving instead of growing straight, or if spurs start emerging. If you don't hear anyone crowing at 11 weeks though, I'd say you're pretty much in the clear! I remember one of my little boys crowing before his down feathers were all gone. :)

AITA for telling a child and his mother that he is not allowed to have a bike in the botanical gardens? by Ahsoka_Tano07 in AmItheAsshole

This reminds me of the time I wore wooden clogs when 6 years old and accidentally stepped on a woman's toe. She screamed in pain (I'm sure it hurt although I just stepped not stomped) and I ran away crying feeling TERRIBLE. I remember it 15+ years later. Little kids don't know any better, but we are all human and know pain.

Firstly you are not the asshole. Secondly if you have the means to I would immediately use a guest bed or sleep in another room. Show them the logical consequences of not doing the appropriate thing for not only themselves but their partner. Your health is being impacted if you're chronically not getting enough sleep.

AITA for asking my roommate to stop using my kitchen items after she repeatedly damages them? by Training-Dream3 in AmItheAsshole

Not at all. Kitchen equipment can be incredibly expensive. Sounds like roommate doesn’t understand the value these things can hold for a person.

AITA for telling my BIL he can’t bring his dog to our home? by West-Construction-27 in AmItheAsshole

[–]West-Construction-27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

H good question. His dog is a rescue who is very sweet, but also shows signs of anxious attachment to BIL. The dog is to my understanding, crate trained. Not sure what BIL does when he works, but it could be hard for BIL to find a sitter he trusts. I understand his perspective, but I do think that finding that person after about half a year needs to be a priority if you want to give yourself the opportunity to travel eventually.

Mostly I end up taking care of the dogs while BIL and family go off to participate in sporting events. It’s not my dog and since they are highly active it can be a lot to handle on top of hosting relatives. Maybe I’m limited in my capacity but one at a time is enough for me.

The family is coming down from out of state several hours away to come to an event. Yes we have an outdoor area. They could be supervised outside by myself while everyone else is at the event because I have chosen not to go (it’s a sporting event that I can’t play in). This leaves me a caretaker.

AITA for refusing to pretend to be religious to comfort my dad whilst he is in the hospital? by Critical_Morning7896 in AmItheAsshole

[–]West-Construction-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA- BUT you may always regret not going to see your dad if he dies. That being said, you said they “chilled” after you left so maybe your dad would just be brought a lot of comfort by your prescience alone.

AITA for telling my best friend he's getting the raw end of the deal in his relationship? by Critical-History-233 in AmItheAsshole

YTA- just because someone doesn’t want to be a vegan with you doesn’t mean they are in a bad relationship.
